I have just received notification from Rachel that her final item for this years HF is ready for auction! There will be a small delay whilst we sort out shipping costs before the ebay Auction goes live, but in the meantime here is a little teaser

Thanks Bill, Rachel is sorting this her end. Normally she ships to me but in this case it makes sense for her to ship direct. I'm just waiting on her to provide me with shipping quotes for US and UK. I will include these in the auction as it may not be a member who wins (BUT IT HAD DAMN WELL BETTER BE!!)

Could it be a "Crimson King" sculpture?

Disclaimer: I have absolutely no knowledge nor, did I have anything directly to do with this donation. I am speculating just like anyone else. Simon & Rachel, can vouch for that fact.

I know, I know! The auction is up even though the link isn't here yet. Knowing that there is no way I'd win I placed the first bid anyways, just to be first I guess.

This is one cool item!

Well, I doubt I'll win it, (reduced the bid somewhat due to the shipping cost). I do like glassware. Would it be sacrilege if I actually used it? Love drinking stingers in the winter!

It WOULD be sacrilege to use it! But I may have to bid on these too. Lovely item, Rachel!

I'm so pleased and somewhat relieved with the reception these glasses have received.

I wanted to do something completely new and unique this year and I wasn't sure how everyone would feel about them but it appears they are quite a hit.

Great to see the support the Haven Fund has received once again and I am hopeful that the 15k goal can be reached. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your support and dedication!

I am the current high bidder. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I will drink from them. I am biding on them as much for my love of glassware, as I am as a SK item. I think it would be a shame to not honor the beauty and uniqueness by not drinking from them. (granted, not on a regular basis, maybe once a year). So if you think this is sacrilege, I suggest you out bid me :P

PS: my current bid is my final bid, so it shouldn't be too hard to outbid me.

Just over 2 hours to go!

This could be make or break for the 15k goal this year. I'll be putting in 120gbp from Palaver sculpture sales too so hopefully that will tip the balance in favour of this years goal. I really hope we make it.

I don't see any reason why the glasses can't be used for their expected purpose unless the winner feels they couldn't bring themselves to do so, which is OK too. Decorative or practical enjoyment, it's all good. Using a gentle dish soap or washing up liquid with a non abrasive cloth will be fine but I might suggest avoiding dishwashers or acidic/alkaline or strong detergents etc as a precautionary measure. I don't think any harm would come to the glasses or engravings whatever normal methods of washing were to be used as they are not transfers, paints or surface stickers. They are ground into the surface of the glass and non removable so are highly unlikely to wear in any way through normal use.

I look forward to seeing where the auction goes and shipping them out to the eventual winner. Good luck to all of you that are hoping to win the auction, I hope we can break that 15k mark...

Thanks very much Rachel & Simon, this set is going to great with the rest of the glassware collection (I'll post a photo later ... you'll understand!)

Congrats George! You got one hell of a bad ass one of a kind item there! Only way to celebrate properly is with a glass of rye when they arrive.

Actually there's a drink called The Green Mile, I was thinking about doing that with the Mr. Jingles glass (1 oz melon liqueur, 3/4 oz Mailbu Rum, 1/4 oz Cointreau, 3 oz pineapple juice, if anyone is interested); either that or an RC Cola. For the JFK 11/22/63 glass it would have to be a Root Beer. For Pennywise it would have to be tea. For Barlow ... there's a drink called Vampire Blood (1.5 oz vodka, 1.5 oz pomegranate juice, 1.5 oz blood orange juice (1 blood orange), 1 tablespoon agave syrup, 1 lime wedge).

Yes, I've thought this out!
