For me there is only one stand out winner although I voted for more... BUT Bad Santa is a total win for me.

Very surprised that Mallrats is in the lead early in.

I'm picking only three: Life of Brian, This Is Spinal Tap, and Bad Santa.

Army of Darkness, Bad Santa, Dodgeball

Surprised to see Mallrats doing so well. It's the only Kevin Smith movie I've had zero inclination to ever watch again.

I'm surprised Bad Santa is behind. This is a tough group. A couple more votes and we could have a 5 or 6 way tie.

As long as Dodgeball advances from this group, I'm happy.

I am as well, although I love Mallrats. One of my favorite Kevin Smith films. I didn't think it had any chance this round, so I'm really excited that it might possibly make it on.

Surprised Bad Santa is not in the lead. It was by far my number 1 choice.

Yeah come on! One of the best dark comedies of the 2000s. You cannot watch this and not laugh:

It's weird to realize that the two actors in the second scene of that clip are both dead now.

Having never seen This Is Spinal tap I'm claiming Bad Santa as the best of the group. It's the only movie I watch every Christmas.

Say what you will, but if you haven't seen all the films, how can you participate in the voting?

I'm sure there's very few people here that have seen every film.

I'm sure there's very few people here that have seen every film.

But then the films you haven't seen may be better than the ones you did, you'll just never know and therefore shouldn't really vote, no? IDK just seems wacky to me is all and I'm a bit of an "oddball" I admit. I mean, Mattrick thinks "Bad Santa" is great yet, he hasn't even viewed "Spinal Tap" and yet his vote counts and is actually biased to a degree. No offense intended or meant, Mattrick.

Have you seen all 200 nominations? lol All of our votes are biased...it's based on our opinions, non? And I don't see how my not viewing This Is Spinal tap makes me not able to think Bad Santa is a great comedy. We pick the films we like most, I think. If I had seen all the films and, say, This Is Spinal Tap and Life of Brian I really liked, Bad Santa wouldn't be the film I remove to be within the limit of 4 votes, so it really wouldn't change anything. Now, if we allowed a month or so between nominations and the tournament, we'd actually have time to watch the films we haven't.

I'm sure films like Another Year and Withnail and I, which are fantastic comedies, received so few votes since we could count the members that have seen them on one hand, I think. Of course the films more people have seen will get more votes, that's just math.

First off, I didn't mean to attack you, you just were the last guy posting on this subject. Also, I surely do not know the answer this dilemma in the voting, but yes I have seen just about all of the nominated films. I was only utilizing you as an example is all. Nothing personal was implied or intended. I have also viewed "Another Year & Withnail" on the referral of folks herein. I just was not that impressed.

No wonder you have so many problems with these tournaments. You're under the assumption that everybody who participates has seen every film, or that they should only participate if they have seen every film.

You do realize how hard it is to watch every single film. I've seen most, but even I have a handful I haven't seen. It's like saying we can't debate who the best baseball players because none of us have ever seen Babe Ruth play.
