How is Team America still getting votes?

Because it's funny

As a film it's not very good. In my opinion, of course. It may be funny, but to be considered the best comedy film, it has to be both funny and a good film, right?

Well, that's Scary Movie fucked on both counts. LOL!

Yet somehow it has as many votes as Chaplin's classic Modern Times, which is both funny and a great and celebrated film.

Team America is a smart satire on America. And I mean, marionettes. The effort Parker and Stone went through with marionettes and miniatures and sets and all without computers is just pretty crazy. Team America is both funny and a good film, it's just not in the least traditional..it's the best damn puppet movie ever effing made by a thousand fold. Spaceballs
Meet the Parents
Scary Movie

Also how on earth is Meet the Fockers doing better than Meet the Parents? I'm guessing luck of the draw of the other movies it's up against in that poll? The original is so much better in my opinion, I hate to see it get kicked out and have the sequel move on. I guess I just never knew how much of a following it had.

I know it's satire, just not my cup of tea, I guess.

Scary Movie and Team America tied for fourth is scary. Need more votes for Chaplin! It's our only one in Round 2.

Maybe I should have withheld my vote for Scary Movie, I'd much rather see Meet the Parents move on. Hopefully it can snag a few more votes before the poll closes.

Interesting race for fourth. Modern Times still has a chance.

You're right. The gap between those two should have been MUCH wider!

I can't speak for Modern Times, but I loathe American Pie. I've never understood the appeal.

I'm glad to see that Spaceballs kicked butt this round.

I can't speak for Modern TimesPlease try to watch. It's fun and still deep in its way. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Love, love, love, LOVE Modern Times! Might just be the earliest film I can think of with a cocaine joke in it  It came out at a time when silent film was dead and it's considered the last great silent masterpiece even though there is plenty of talking in it. But all the talking is filtered through machines like record players and monitors. It's a beautiful film and I love it! When I want to introduce Chaplin to someone, I always start with Modern Times and I've never watched it with anyone who didn't laugh their asses off. :emot-roflolmao:

It's like this tournaments goal is to eliminate all my favourite films as quick as possible.
