I've seen Groundhog Day countless times and the other day it occurred to me, what if Phil was actually dead and in Purgatory?, I thought I was pretty smart until I googled it and of course many others have already researched and put forth this argument

Tough group. I am hopeful that some more votes will come in for Dogma. Great film.

I heard that Phil lives the same day like 1,000 times in that movie. Pretty crazy to think about.

Also, it looks like more people are going to have to watch It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Seriously, it's a fun movie.

It's nearly impossible to know how many days because not all of them are shown. Even for the ones shown it gets kind of crazy trying to keep track of them. I think it's really up there, like closer to 10,000 days myself.

I liked MMMMW but I liked others on the list better

Edit: I found this page regarding the number of days (it does contain spoilers)

"THE COLOR OF THE PEN, THAT I HOLD IN MY HAND---!" ahahahaha

I love when he puts his knee on his arm "WRITE IT! WRITE IT OR I'LL BREAK IT OFF!"

That's Carey in his element. Perfect role for him.

Airplane is my favorite comedy of all time and one of my picks for the final four. I'm rooting hard for it.

Airplane! hands down. Few movies even come close to approaching the funny that is Airplane!. I first saw this in the theater when I was 11 years old. This was probably the first "spoof" movie I had ever seen. At that age I was likely unaware of the genre and just how much fun you could have poking fun in such an outlandish way. I distinctly recall laughing so hard that I fell out of my theater chair and rolled on the cinema floor. I was so weak with laughter that I had a hard time getting back into my seat. And the great thing was that the next, oh, 11 or 12 times I watched it, I would always pick up one more subtle little nugget of comedy thrown in that I had missed on previous viewings.

Also voted for Groundhog Day. Clever and funny and with a heart. Murray at his peak.

Liar Liar was good. Carey's talents really put to good use. Bad Santa was a real hoot.

I gave Singing in the Rain a vote b/c I think it is a very entertaining musical. As a comedy? Well....okay, it had its funny moments.

Astonishing to see Liar Liar with 12 votes.

That’s one of my absolute favorite movies. So many great quotes in it.

"Hey, Fletcher, how's it hanging?"
"Short, shriveled, and always to the left."

I use this more than I probably should.

Ouch. It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World stings for me. One of my favorites since I was a kid. Just got the new Criterion Blu-ray and it's fantastic. I hope people watch this one. It's a lot of fun.

Also, I just realized The Guilt Trip was in the tournament. Not sure how that happened.
