I don't consider "The Cell" a Sci-Fi as much as I do a crime drama.

Why not? It's about going into a person's mind.
Surprised that Dark City is trailing right now.

The Fly is currently the film in which the length of time from the moment of wanting to watch without watching it. It was previously Quiz Show. Been wanting to watch The Fly for 17 years now. I have it now I just haven't watched it. Since it will no dount advance (as will blade Runner, 2001 and Metroplis so if they make it to single vote rounds I'll try to watch every film nominated I haven't seen in order of want.

Matts, all due respect, but if you haven't even seen "The Fly" you have no business voicing your opinion here. Love it or hate it, It is a "classic Sci Fi film".

I could say that about anyone who didn't watch Fantastic Planet yet voted in that poll in the first round. It's not as if my not seeing it and voting for it will hurt it...where as Fanastic Planet didn't advance because of no one having seen it. It's in the book 1001 movies to watch before you die so you better get on it :p

We're not voting on the classic. It's the remake.

We have an Essex in Connecticut. Connecticut loved naming towns after places in England. I'm from Wallingford, I 'm pretty sure there is a Walllingford in England too. Not sure how familiar you are with it.
DoctorDodge

It's got a 'ford' in it, so while I'm not familiar with it, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Wallingford, like Sanford, Cranford, and Harrisonford.

Why they changed it, I can't say.
People just liked it better that way."

And from my extensive US geography knowledge based on HBO shows, don't they have an Essex in New Jersey, as well? Someone really liked that name.

I wouldn't know. New Yorkers rarely go into, Jersey unless they are driving to D.C. LOL
Rickey, don't you mean in Maryland? LOL

Ok, before we finally try to get this thread back on topic, I'm just gonna say this: next time you watch Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit, mentally replace every mention of "Shire" with that other popular last syllable to English counties, "Sex".
"I miss the Sex."
"We've got the Sex. Maybe we should go home." "There won't BE a Sex, Pippin!"
"Do you remember the Sex, Mr Frodo?"
Hell, you can even extend this to the original novel: "The Scouring of the Sex."
Anyway, back on topic: my favourites of the round of the ones I've seen are Aliens and The Fly. Time Machine's pretty cool, too.

I was always bothered by just how The Time Machine (1960) went beyond the book.
