I happened to have noticed in the past that FotN is pretty popular, so I nominated it just to see how far it'd go. Even making this tiebreaker feels kinda good.

Alright, so, the simple argument for FotN is that the set-up portrays a plausible scenario from Einstein in faintly dark manner, and the twist is saved nicely. Sure, the bulk of the film in between that dramatic build-up and the crafty denoument is just crude puppetry and corny disco, but it does tell a solid, basic science fiction story.

I'm disappointed that the basic movie is trailing. I didn't feel like Fire in the Sky was a complete story but maybe it is due for a re-watch.
