it's a good story, but I can't bear (hmmm...) this kind of writing. I always hate it when King does it (regrettably often). That's what murdered The Colorado Kid for me. There ought to be a law against him imitating narrator's voice.

Actually, that's why I gave it a 4.5. I loved the narrative tone. It's one, long, confessional monologue in a police interrogation room. I kinda thought that was a nifty idea.

4. I also liked the tone. I have not read Colorado Kid, but I cant really think of another King book told from this perspective. I think that is what gives DC its unique feel.

I loved it. Right from the FFE (free front endpapers) depicting the total solar eclipse path through Maine, the book grabbed me. Just a tale of brutal endurance,
