Hey guys, been a member here for a while and lurked around for even longer. I have collected SK for close to 10 years, but I had to sell a bunch of my collection a few years back when I bought a new house. I just started to get my home library together and have gotten back to collecting. I can't believe how much I have missed it!!!

So here's some general pics of my library room:

First Editions on this shelf-

My reading copies and other horror/ sci fi books-

I will follow up with a few individual shelf/ book pictures in the days to come. I have to dig up my tripod so I can take some better pictures. Thanks for looking!!!

Nice fish tank. Any piranhas?

Also love that S/L THE STAND.

No piranhas, I have heard they tend to stink up the room, although I have never kept them. As it sits, it has no fish. I am cycling it and possibly doing an African Cichlid tank. I had those fish in a previously owned 75 gallon tank and it looked wonderful!!!

I had a fish tank in my office for many years. They're great. Had "Oscars" at one point but they were kinda dirty eating live gold fish and all.

And here is the book that started it all....collecting that is. I have read SK since 1990, when my Aunt gave me a softcover copy of The Stand. I was 11 years old and my parents were not happy as they thought Stephen King wrote nothing but "smut" and he would corrupt my virgin mind....lol. I attended a private school then and brought that book to school....it almost got me suspended!!!!

Fast forward 13 years...the gal I was dating at the time saw my bookshelf of Stephen King books and bought this for me for Christmas. I thought it was so cool that she found an SK book I had not heard of.....little did I know!

http://i42.tinypic.com/2v30nt0.jpg

I had no idea SK wrote anything besides horror, and my mind was blown when I read this book!!! I slowly found all the other parts of the story and over the course of the next few years read I-VII. This also opened my eyes as to what else was out there. I had no clue that there were "gift" and "limited" and "numbered" editions of books!!! From that point I was hooked!

Ok 'kill' maybe a bit extreme. I will however stare very, very jealously at your avatar from behind the safety of my computer screen. AND I may occasionally mutter incoherently about "mine goddamit! it should be mine!" - so don't think you're getting off lightly !

"I still say we should kill him"
No - we are not going to kill him, he's a nice man
"but he has one of our books"
No, he hasn't said he's got that one and any way it's NOT our's
"Not yet, if we killed him it would be"
no. it wouldn't. It didn't work last time did it?
"no... well nearly..."
do you want to end up back in the padded room?
"NO, NO, no.. not the room, not the music"
Good be quite then

I love me some IPA's!!! I mainly have barleywines/ stouts/ sours/ old ales in the cellar as they can handle aging the best, but the fridge is stocked with the hoppy stuff. Although my tastes wander with the seasons, my most favorite beer is Sierra Nevada Bigfoot. I could drink that beer any day of the year!!!

I agree, West Coast IPA's are the best! The wife and I were in SF for part of our honeymoon, later on we stayed further up the coast. One of my "must visit" places was Russian River Brewery. I had Pliny/ Blind Pig previously, but oh my god it was so delicious straight from the source! We have a few choice Midwest IPA/ IIPA being released soon, I will shoot you a PM and we can work something out!

Their Belgian ales in the large wax sealed bottles are a favorite of mine as well.

A friend of mine opened a brewery in Kenosha a little over a year ago and just made his first sour. It's the first I've tried, but I liked it quite a bit.

It's one of the first books people notice and pick up when they walk into the room. I think it is serving it's purpose perfectly! (that and I would chop fingers off if they grabbed anything else...)

Yep. Glorious book!

Agreed, completely!!!

I know it goes against all rules in collecting, but every time I go down to my library I find myself grabbing the book and enjoying it's "feel". I flip through the pages and stare at the signatures, both of which are glorious! I am sure I am decreasing it's collectible value, but in the same way I am increasing its value to me....so I guess it's worth it!

Glad to see some New Glarus Unplugged in there.

I would have it no other way. Their fruit beers are some of the best in the country and it is my main trade bait in the beer game.... I can pretty much score anything with New Glarus brews!!!
If you want some of THE best IPA's, and Double-IPA's; come to California. PM me and maybe we can exchange great beers (but no fluids-sorry I don't roll like that, and it is Flu-H1N1 season).

I am lucky enough to live in Santa Rosa and Russian River Brewery is a very good spot to hang out. I am going to be there tomorrow for some Pliny the Younger; it’s only available for two weeks in February.

No but I do like Racer 5 a lot. My nickname simply has to do with my love of auto racing and I usually have car #45. I am sure we can work something out with some trading bottles. I picked these up the other day, I don’t want to trade them just though you would appreciate them

And lastly, I completed my Artist's Signed Dark Tower run. I was going to go for Artist's Remarqued but not sure about getting a Wrightson (maybe tipping in a piece of art) and Hale's remarques are IMHO bullshit...much like his signature on this book-
