Well, the Thing and Silver Surfer were nominated... they'll just have to represent that team for you, I suppose. Of course, even more powerful than either of those guys is the (also left out of our list) son of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman, Franklin. This perpetual toddler actually stood up against Celestials on occasion; the awesome alien race who implanted the potential for superhuman mutation into human genetics in the Marvel universe to begin with. Not that level of power will necessarily matter here; the main point of this tournament and how it's going to proceed remain quite unclear clear to me.
If it's just in fun, and not so much about deciding who is either best written or who is perceived as most "badass," then I really wish that I had nominated Shadowcat too. She's my favorite of the X-Men, (probably because she joined close to when I started collecting) and I think she could seriously make this more interesting: hard to kill with her power of intangibility, plus that power disrupts electronics. We have a lot of machines and machine-users nominated, but not such a lot of characters with counter-machine advantages.
Still, there is at least one more machine from Marvel that I also really wish had been added: Ultron. You'd think that somebody would have remembered to be excited about him what with his big film role coming up in the next Avengers installment.
