I wasn't sure when to start this as I only have two "limiteds" at the moment (well, I suppose the second one really isn't a "limited edition" in the general sense) and I have more on the way coming at the end of the year but I figured I'd give it a go. Apologies for the poor images.

The "It: 25th Anniversary Special Edition" will probably remain my favorite even when I get more. It is my favorite book of all time and I really love the production on this. The cover art is one of my favorite pieces, it's my desktop wallpaper at the moment. It's my first LE and I was a bit hesitant to get it given the price, but I figured I'd kick myself if I didn't.

I'm a UMass Lowell student, so when Stephen King came over I was able to go to a semi-private Q&A session (about a hundred or so people). I brought It along in a duffel bag just in case and afterwards a handful of people had brought some books as well so I asked him to sign mine. I was a little nervous given his thoughts on limited editions but he was very friendly and was like, "Wow, Cemetery Dance!"

The Dark Man came in for me today and since I ordered from Overlook it came with a free signed "plate" from Chadbourne.

Doctor Sleep came in today. :) Apologies again for the camera quality, I'll try to retake them eventually (I keep them in an area where there's not a lot of light facing them which is good for the books but not so good for photos).

Also NOS4A2 came in last week but I've yet to take it out just because I'm a bit hesitant to handle it without the slipcase and because I need to put away some time to carefully read the bonus material (as opposed to just flipping through it to see the illustrations).

Thanks. :)

I was asked about it at the CD forum, so this is my normal book collection or about a third of it. I have some more scattered around the house and there's another bookcase downstairs that's a bit disorderly at the moment. (If anyone's wondering those aren't first editions of The Shining and Cujo but book club editions I got from a library sale.) Also the book at the left corner is the pop-up edition of Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.

So long story short, the UK hardcover for 'Let the Right One In' is now OOP and it's the only hardcover with the correct English title translation (the US edition being 'Let Me In'). I don't know how 'valuable' it is as some have sold it for $25 while it's gone from $50 to over a hundred elsewhere.

Regardless it's one of my favorite novels and I was lucky to find a slightly dinged copy for very cheap. I recently got it a brodart cover and slipcase from Jeff Whiley for it. I suppose such protection is unnecessary for a book that's already used but if I ever come across one in better condition at least I'll have something ready.

I went to a Joe Hill reading yesterday and he signed some of my stuff.

With Horns, I now have signed copies of all of his books (US trade hardcovers, that is).

http://i.imgur.com/Pz75LKK.jpg

Two Locke & Key issues. My plan is eventually to get the entire run signed.

http://i.imgur.com/e1S0WjY.jpg

Finally, he signed my L/E of NOS4A2. I know that personal inscriptions lessens the value of such a book but I prefer them to simple flatsigned ones and I won't be selling the book as it's my only copy.

Not SK-related or a book but it's still 'limited'. It's a Director's Cut of Clive Barker's Nightbreed and it comes with an extra disc of features and a Blu-ray of the original cut which is only available in this edition because of rights issues.

http://i.imgur.com/Hgph3Xx.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/HnDLQrq.jpg

It was originally limited to 5,000 copies but they (Shout Factory) doubled it to 10,000 because of high demand. A lot of collectors were annoyed but I'm not planning on selling it, I just wanted to own all the features and have the original cut in HD (my number is still in the first 5,000 which is nice). I also love the packaging and cover art.

I actually wasn't aware of that (the Nerdist recording, right?) until now but unfortunately I'm going to be away on the 14th. :( That and Brookline is pretty far away for me; if it was Stephen King I'd probably try to make it happen if I was available but with Hill I've been spoiled as he keeps on showing up close to where I live.

Yeah, the Nerdist's. It's a bit of a trip for me as well, from southern maine, but my wife and i are doing home-health care gig, and any time I can get away is appreciated! My other motivation is getting the copy of HSB that i have coming signed. That will give me all four of his novels signed. Not even gonna try to do the comics thing! :)

"Welcome to Glasgow" ahah, that would make my wife laugh!
What is this graphic novel about?

CyberGhostface
09-04-2018, 06:28 AM
It's a horror/crime anthology series that's kind of similar to 'Sin City'. Each issue follows a different character although there's some overlap. It takes place in a crime-ridden city in Scotland where there's lots of psychotic killers running around (I.E. a van filled with murderous clowns that shows up at night).

The official Kickstarter page goes into more detail and has the first issue for free:

Not part of my collection proper but still something I'd like to share. I went to the Rocky Woods' outdoor screening of 'It’ last night.

I've been doing a lot of 'It' stuff lately but barring any unforeseen acquisitions this will probably serve as the grand finale for a while.

I recently commissioned a Glenn Chadbourne remarque on 'It' from Overlook Connection. Also included was a wraparound cover that Chadbourne painted.

The cover.

https://abload.de/img/unnamed7bfcx2.jpg

The remarque itself. I requested Pennywise with the Losers in the sewers. I'm very happy with how it turned out.

https://abload.de/img/unnamed46aest.jpg

Some further detail.

https://abload.de/img/unnamed2z5dk7.jpg

https://abload.de/img/unnamed3uofzx.jpg

And finally the Letter of Provenance.

Brian861
10-15-2018, 02:41 PM
Not a fan of the cover but that is a nice Remarque. I think Glenn does his best work on commissions. Phillip, you may know this, but it'll probably cost you less to have commissions done directly through Chadbourne vs. going through Dave. I was really happy of the one he did for me in Revival.

CyberGhostface
10-15-2018, 03:31 PM
Yeah I’ll probably do that if I commission something else in the future but I liked the jacket art in this instance so I figured I’d just get both at once.

If you're not familiar with the book, John Higgins did the coloring back during its initial release and the original artist Brian Bolland recolored it for its anniversary a while back. There's a bit of controversy as to which is better so this edition includes both. (Top is Higgins', bottom is Bolland's.)

Yeah, Ketchum was a great writer. The Woman is the third in a trilogy (the first two being Off Season and Offspring) but it can be read separately. The first two are well-written but straightforward cannibal novels but this one I felt was the strongest in terms of plot and character. It’s about a guy that discovers a cannibal woman and tries to ‘civilize’ her with the help of his family and things escalate from there.

I normally don’t get lettered editions as they’re way too expensive for me but this one was being sold for less than $200 so I grabbed it.

ur2ndbiggestfan
12-12-2019, 07:48 PM
I did not know that it was part of a trilogy. I read OFF SEASON back in 1980 when I won a Special Advance Edition of the paperback at a bookstore I used to go to every Friday after work (which is now a tattoo parlor). I also have a paperback of OFFSPRING. Maybe I'll read all three in a row now and see how that works. Thanks for the info!

Tomas from stephenkingcollector.com had a book sale at the beginning of the month and I ended up getting these.

First up is Folio Society's edition of 'The Shining'. This was something I was always curious about but as I already owned Subterranean and Cemetery Dance's gift editions I was a bit hesitant at getting another version. Tomas was selling it for $20 so I grabbed it.

The other book I got was the first trade edition of 'The Waste Lands'.

Big arrival today from Suntup.

The Artist Gift Edition for 'Red Dragon'...

I love the cover art, it's a perfect representation of Francis Dolarhyde from the book. I'm glad they didn't include Hannibal as others might have because as much as I love Dr. Lecter it's not his story.

The Numbered Edition...

This is by far the most I've ever spent on one individual book but I figured I wouldn't come by an opportunity like this again.

Finally, the Limited Premiums.

So I just went through your collection Philip. Very nice. You have a lot of great books and merchandise. But those inscriptions. Wow, are they awesome. And that signed and I believe inscribed IT GE is just fantastic.
Lot's to be proud of in this thread.

I'll go into more detail once the actual book comes in but I won a PC copy of Suntup's 'Let the Right One In'. I decided to purchase the accompanying Rubik cube paperweight to go with it and was able to get the PC designation on it.
