Now that I finally have some worthy shelf space, I figure I might as well create a collection thread. I don't have many super-rare or valuable things, but I thought people might be interested in seeing some of my shelves close-up. Here are my bookcases:

My collection falls into five distinct buckets:

Dark Tower
Books published by Donald M. Grant
Books by Lawrence Block
Other Stephen King books
Other random books I have amassed

I really only want to collect the first three; the other two happen because sometimes I can't help myself.

Shelf #1: Random Stephen King books.

11/22/63 S/L and Facs S/L editions:

Shelf #2: Dark Tower

I don't understand the economics exactly, but it seems like DT III is the easiest and cheapest DT S/L to acquire and it's the only one I have. That's okay because, as can be seen by the fact that there are four copies of the Grant edition in the picture above, it is my favorite DT book. Here is my S/L, whith jacket off for those who've never seen it in the raw:

Here is the Grant slipcased edition of DT I - III. People who don't have the books might not know that all three books (Gunslinger third printing, Drawing second edition, and Waste Lands first edition) are all bound in red cloth. They match better than is implied by this photo:

Shelf #3: More Dark Tower Stuff

This shelf is various other editions of DT books, including a couple Plume Special Reading Copies of DT II, and my Desperation/Regulators shrinkwrapped set with attached W&G sampler. I don't know how "authentic" the attachment is, but it's still pretty cool. One of my true P&Js is on this shelf, though, and that's my Waste Lands with drawing of "The Rose" by Ned Dameron:

Some somewhat less "official" DT items. The highlights of this shelf are my "Constant Reader" statue by Rachel Readman, with "Oy", by Alex McVey:

Shelf #5: Lawrence Block Books

These are primarily Signed/Limited editions; I have signed firsts and proofs elsewhere that I won't bore you with:

People on this site might primarily know Lawrence Block as "the guy who wrote 'The Sins of the Fathers'", but he has been around forever. My favorite book series (yes, more than the Dark Tower) are LB's Burglar books, on which the awful 1980s Whoopi Goldberg/Bobcat Goldthwait movie "Burglar" was based. Here is the Dark Harvest S/L of Sins of the Fathers:

Signed by LB and by Stephen King (in purple, no less):

These are mostly trade editions; nothing spectacular to report:

Shelf #7: More DMG Books

More books published by DMG; this shelf is primarily S/Ls:

DMG's first book, published in 1964, along with a fancier second edition published in 2001 (?):

One of the nicest books I own, "The Crow: Shattered Lives and Broken Dreams:

A VERY nice collection!

Just FYI, the Wizard and Glass promo booklet was never attached officially to the Desperation/Regulators set. The booklet came after the set was issued.

Very nice! I like the shelves a lot with the exception of the bottom half. So much space to display stuff, yet it's closed off! That'd drive me nuts!

That's why I bought the similar cases, but full glass top to bottom.

The books look so great under glass. I love glass door bookcases. And I wasn't bored at all, your collection is instead VERY interesting!

Very nice! I like the shelves a lot with the exception of the bottom half. So much space to display stuff, yet it's closed off! That'd drive me nuts!True, but I have a two year old in the house, and covering the bottom reduces the curiosity factor a bit. Also, I have some items that are not appropriate for general display.
