With so much on the line for the A.L. at least on this day, this is a "One day thread" to post current news on the critical games underway in MLB on it's final day of the 2012 season.

We haven't had a nail biter like this in the A.L. for a while and it's really cool!!! Kuroda takes the mound for the Bomber's but...

Up first is the A's and Rangers!!!

TMIDITW is at today's A's/Rangers game and updates and commentary is welcome!!!

You all know my thoughts:

:YYY:

But what are yours?????

Terrible. Runners on second and third, nobody out and can't even get one run. The rangers deserve to lose. Too bad we have to watch a wc game in which they will lose, if the last three weeks are any indication. I have watched all 162 games and am just disgusted. This is the worst way ever to make it to the playoffs.

Ben Staad

It would be even greater if the Yanks sweep the Sux!!! Though Baltimore is losing!!

I beee watching for him but onloy see clearly the first 3 or 4 rows. He had an extra ticket but there was no way I could get to NYC in time. My other bro in law from NY State drove from upstate to Poukeepsie and tookt he train in 0 got to the park at 6:45. Those seats are awesome. the food is all free and the menu is extensive and they have waitresses coem to the seats. I am bery jealous. The two guys and my sister in law are marginal Yankee fans. I should be there.

I went to the A's Rangers game yesterday and it was amazing. I have been to over 200 A's games including numerous payoff and World Series games and this was the most engaged energetic crowd I have witnessed. No one left early, in fact many stayed over 30 minutes after the games as the players took victory laps around the field. The (we) stood half the game. Great fun.

Sorry, Iwritecode, A.L. East Division Champs!!! Hey I was excited!!!

Man, the Braves got a real raw deal on that "Infield Fly rule" call!!! The Umps clearly blew that one!!! I hope the manager protests the game. In a one game playoff the Umps should NEVER factor into the decision. Maybe that is why they should consider going back to a 154 game season if, MLB wants to expand the post-season.

Food for thought!!!

True, very true they sure gave the game to the Cards, but the Umps were way late on the call, which is kinda the whole point of it and how do you call an IFR when the ball is halfway into LF? Even though the Braves messed up it truly may have cost them the game!!! A game like this should NEVER be decided by the officials. So sad. MLB will most likely stick bu the officials sadly.

Bye "Chipper" it was great watching you play the game!!!

Seems like the "Best" days in baseball this year just keep coming!!! Another 4 games in one day going on with the Giants leading the Reds in the 7th. Lets post updates and such here folks!!! Who are you rooting for?

Personally, I'd like to see the Giants take down the Reds and I'm "On the fence" with the Det/Oak series leaning towards Detroit!!!

You should be going for the Tigers. The Yanks v. Tigers this year went to the Yankees 6 (wins) games to 4 whereas the Yankees v. A's ended ties at 5-5.

Like I said, I am leaning towards the Tigers, but its the best of two evils. The Tiger's and A's have great teams, but we have roughed up Verlander before. In either case, it is shaping up as one of the best post-seasons in a long time!!!

And the Nats stayed alive today as well! A-Rod moved to 5th in the lineup - hope it sparks him. His first at bat they totally pitched around him and he walked. Now Grandyman needs to get his act together - the strikeouts are killing me. Hughes started a bit rough first few batters but has settled in nicely.

Karen, I wouldn't have expected you to say anything else! On the flip side, at least the Yankees made it to the Post Season. What happened to the Red Sux! Oh, that's right, they laid down their bats a long time ago (or shipped them away) and since their Oct 4th drubbing in the Bronx they have been probably playing golf!

I can respect that - I have been a Yankee fan since I was about 5 years old. that would put it in the Mantel/Maris era. I have rooted for them all along through the thick sn the thin, the good years and the lean ones. One thing I am not, nor do I care to see, are bandwagon hoppers. if I was one I'd have been a nats fan this year. I was rooting for them and was planning on continuing until such time that they might meet the Yankees in the WS. Didn't happen and I quit rooting for them. Maybe next year!

Merlin1958

My hat is off to the Tiger's!!! They certainly had our number this year!!! And it looks like it will be a Giants/Tigers Series!!! Whatta ya know? For a change the WS is not being played in the Bronx!!!

Guess I gotta go with the Tiger's since I dislike the NL on general principle!!!

Truth be told, I am more worried about Jeter and his surgery. Whatever you may say, we have the rare opportunity to have witnessed one of the truly greats in MLB!! That cannot be disputed!!! It's like having a chance to watch and root for "Original Hall of Famer's" hands down!!! Something I will pass onto my Grandchildren and their kids much in the same way Berra and Mantle fans have passed on to their offspring. I truly hope he recovers because he is definitely one of the Greats!!! Get back to the diamond, DJ. Baseball needs ya!!!
