I'll ask the mods of this section to rename this thread - later - but for the moment there's nothing to express my feelings better than this.

Guys!!! We were exactly 5 years old in the beginning of May - well, officially, May 19 - and we missed it! Let's celebrate now, it's a good, round anniversary!

don't blame Jerome - he has stuff to do! It's bears who's always kept track of the lore and the chronicles, and now fucked up!

When I saw the title of this thread, I couldn't help but think, "How long have I been asleep?!", thinking I'd somehow missed the bank holiday jubilee weekend (which I still intend to work on). Then I opened it up and went, "Phew!" Well, I celebrated it by seeing the Counterfeit Stones live on May 19th. Ok, I had no idea it was the 5th year anniversary of the site, but I'm retconning it into one anyway!

Oh, and needfulthings: where the hell do you find these obscure images?! I mean I recognise the Who one, obviously, let's face it, most would be surprised if I didn't, but it's still obscure, nonetheless!

Happy Birthday, DT!!

And... that's interesting! May 19th was the very day my husband and I decided we would start our family... perhaps I should start adding more King related baby names to the list. Hmmm.

I clicked on this thread because I had no idea what the word "jubilee" meant.

Do you have an idea of what it is now, Iwritecode?

Btw, every time I think "Jubilee", I think of a classic Who audio story. (I know, I need help, but in fairness, it is a stonkingly awesome one. Actually, I need to dig that out.)

EDIT: Scratch that, two. Two really good ones I really need to listen to again pronto.

I'm pretty sure there was a little mini-mart/convinience store a few blocks from where I grew up named Jubilee.

It was one of those little hole-in-the-wall type stores that you never really notice unless you know it's there. I never knew the name of the store had a meaning though. I guess I do now.

Five years is amazing;what totally blows my mind though is that I've known some of you people like ten-ish years all because I decided to search for stuff about my favorite writer.

I was just explaining that to someone at work today, Brice! It's incredible the community we've formed up over the years and how we've all stayed in touch for the most part. I've been friends with those of you from the .net days longer than any of my "real-life" friends.

Now I'm getting all sentimental. :)

I am always all sentimental. :couple:

I can't say I've known y'all longer than all of my "real life" friends, but definitely longer than most and I've probably interacted with y'all more than them too. I'm too busy "playing" on the computer to see them. LOL
