So, finally getting my own thread up here ;)

I still don't have pics of my complete collection, which consists mainly of DT books. But I will try to make them soon. First my new additions will be posted here.

Today got my Spanish DT5 hardcover from Plaza&Janes which looks pretty nice in the full sun!

http://www.roog.nu/120.jpg

It also means that this hardcover serie is complete now so it deserves a complete shelf ^_^

Yeah, I just kidnapped Stephen a few years ago, and he's typing in my backroom now day after day. Oh, by the way, my real name is Annie.

It's time for the collection-photos now ;)

My "DT-wall" consists of 3 bookcases. For each of them I will post pictures of every single shelf.

At the end I will post an overview picture ;)

On top of the bookcases are some non-DT books. On the left is one part of the UK nel-pockets with some UK hardcovers:
http://www.roog.nu/dt01.jpg

On top of the bookcase in the middle: 'Salem's Lot in NL/UK/US hardcover:

Depends on what you call complete, some older sets just have 4 books, newer sets have 7 books, some have just the newest 3 books.
Talking about series that contain all 7 books: Spanish HC, Dutch HC, Dutch PB, German PB, UK PB1, UK PB2, UK PB3, Swedish PB, French PB, so that makes 9 complete sets :D

Wow, thanks. They are probably not rare, but for some reason I quit buying the UK paperbacks for a span of a few years and missed some. The problem is trying to find a bookseller who knows the difference between a number line that starts with 1, and a number line that starts with any other number.

They were not for sale. You could buy a stainless steel bookmark for €19,- and get the book as a gift.
(Had something to do with the way the contract was made up. King didn't allow the book to be sold)

1993, I think. Look at the rear flap of the dj, down at the bottom. Mine has the notation "1093." I think that means October, 1993. Others feel free to correct me if you have more accurate info.

Yeah, kind of collectible state, just for €22,50 :)

Mine has also the 1093 stated on the rear flap, 1993 sounds logical.
The copyright page only shows the info for the first edition (May 1990). Beneath that is a single number "19", what may that be?

biomieg
11-22-2012, 09:16 AM
That means it's a 19th printing (counting from the original 1st printing, it's not that there were 19 printings with this cover as far as I know).

Shannon
11-22-2012, 09:37 AM
FYI, this was brought up in another thread somewhere, but there are quite a few different numbers of printings and/or price changes for the Holdorf books.

WeDealInLead
11-22-2012, 09:43 AM
Those "Holdorf" books are somewhat of a mistery to me. My Carrie is a 4th printing. That's the lowest one I've seen. It's impossible there have been only three previous printings of Carrie since publication. I mean, the theory does make sense because other books w/ Holdorf covers (in my collection at least) start in double digits but there was also another reprint series also starting in double digits with painted covers that came before Holdorf. Either there was a mistake at the printers and number lines are out of whack, or the first printings with Holdorf covers are REALLY hard to find.

Roog

It has some kind of numberline "2008 2007 2006 2005" so this is a 2008 print of a 2005 release i guess.

Joe315

I think that when years are printed like that the earliest year is the year it was printed in. Example:

http://i1153.photobucket.com/albums/p505/rodman109110/F73D6CFD-9820-48A1-B14F-5495FA15D26F-13654-0000120832D8CAEB.jpg

Actually it is:

"2008 2007 2006 2005
Die letzte Jahreszahl gibt die aktuelle Lizenzausgabe an." (the latest year is the actual release)

Still don't know if they mean 'latest in time' or 'last one in the numberline' ;)

Do you have an extra B format pb for sale? I can't seem to find it, either on Amazon.com.uk or The Book Depository.

Both formats are listed as currently unavailable. I don't know why, but I asked them to notify me when they are back in stock. I fear this means I'll get a 2nd printing, though.

Just one question. Where did you get your paperback Hodder & Stoughton 2012 paperback books from? I'm going to get that version as well and am thinking of getting it from Amazon I believe. Besides that, greatest DT book collection there has to be anywhere. Keep it up.

I ordered it at a local store ;) If the price is the most important thing, then I would suggest BookDepository, but they ship very slow. I guess nearly every store can order them.

I've noticed this for some books I've been trying to order recently from them. I'm guessing if the book in question is published in the US you can't order the uk version. Why, I have no idea. Just something I noticed recently.

The A format is available on Amazon's UK site, and I ordered that. But the B format isn't listed. Is the B format an export edition? And why did they release it with a new cover already? The first Hodder B format was released in April 2012. It seems they liked the new cover art so much they did another large paperback edition. Now I just need to find one for myself.
