Thelangoleer
04-30-2012, 07:49 PM
Haha its not that I am mad or anything I just thought it may be different you know? The S/L had the same dj just came in a different traycase - the least grant could have done was number them or something - the way they did it with the talisman/black house set or LSOE

just my humble opinion merlin i didn't mean to offend...

Sorry, but S/L means Signed Limited. And it was never marketed as signed:

TITLE: 11.22.63
A NOVEL by Stephen King
PUBLICATION DATE: November 2011
EDITION: Slipcased Hardcover with DVD written and narrated by Stephen King, which will take you back to the Kennedy-era America.
PRINT RUN: 700 with deluxe binding, photographic endpapers and with author's facsimile signature.
ISBN: 978-1-444744-57-6

But you can call it whatever you want...it is your collection

Hey my theory is - if you are going to spend money on something you "enjoy" you need to enjoy them to the fullest right?

ELazansky
05-01-2012, 03:23 PM
I hate arguing over semantics but if you look on the limitation page... it explicitly says.. "limited" also it is "signed" be it facsimile or not therefore I would call it "Signed"/"Limited"

no offense taken

It is all good. Like I said, it is your book, so you can call it what you like. The book is not listed as part of TDT's Signed Limited collection - http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showwiki.php?title=Complete+list+of+Stephen+King+S igned+Limiteds, which is what I have been using to build my collection, so I'll look at it as a Gift Edition.

Shannon
05-01-2012, 03:44 PM
Limited, yes. I personally consider anything under 10,001 copies "limited". Signed to me means signed. Pen to paper. Original signature. Facsimile signatures don't count. If so, a few of the first editions have SK's signature hot stamped on the book itself. Not signed.

Brice
05-02-2012, 04:35 AM
Shannon, it is frightening, but some people try to sell those hotstamped books on ebay as signed every once in awhile.

On a side note, and I mean no disrespect to you or your acquisition Lang, is this where S/L's are heading? Scribner slaps a sticker and a sig inside a determinate amount of books and there ya go? Woeful!!! Of course it is still a SK signed book I suppose and a little more affordable. Maybe that's the point.

Thelangoleer
05-07-2012, 01:06 PM
Well it is different than the trade edition right? The DJ is different, the boards are different - in no way shape or form am i saying it is comprable to any cemetery dance s/l or anywhere else because it isn't, but i mean i would call it limited because only 850 have been produced like this as opposed to the millions of trade first printings.

ELazansky
05-07-2012, 01:15 PM
It may be a S/L, but after what went on during the sale of that book, a lot of us are a bit put off by Scribner's "Signed Limited" editions. I'm happy to have one, but it certainly isn't the most exciting S/L edition I own.

I apologize, I should never have posted here. It was just an observation of the "Edition" and not meant to take away from your "collectible", my bad!!!! It was totally off the "top of my head" and nothing more!!! Truly, a WONDERFUL acquisition!!!!!! My apologies!!!
