We're coming up on the 100 years since the Titanic sank on the night of April 14, 1912.

Wikipedia has a pretty good article on the ship: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RMS_Titanic

Time has a cool gallery of a few photos taken on the Titanic: http://lightbox.time.com/2012/04/04/titanic/#1

BBC has an interesting myth-busting article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-17515305

And ABC will show a brand-new four-part miniseries on April 14 and 15: http://abc.go.com/shows/titanic/

I've been following the real time tweets on Twitter. It's been interesting.

No one very interested?

Barring some major new revelation or something like that I've read enough about it that the subject doesn't really hold my interest much. I did enjoy the Fr. Browne pics though.

We had the 4-part miniseries on UK TV. It was okay, but we've seen and heard it all before.

It was reported on our local news last night that they have found the grave of the helmsman Robert Hitchens. He died on a ship off Aberdeen and was buried locally. He died a pauper because no-one would work with him as they regarded him a "jinx".

A trading card set is being produced in the UK for the anniversary. Some of the premium packs will contain actual relics from the ship itself, pieces of clothing worn by the passengers, etc.

I just read on Yahoo News that some people didn't realize the Titanic was a real event. How is that possible?
