Edit: I think I'll take some more pics later today.

And I can help you with posting images. :)

Sorry, it's just been a busy tiring week. I'll take some soon. It'll be slower than planned though because my camera decided to stop holding a charge. <_<

I don't think my shabby little shelves would make a dent in this collection. I think you're gonna need a bigger boat um library.

Brice
05-15-2012, 08:28 AM
:D

Oh, there is ALWAYS room for more, right? Actually I have like seven of those kit bookcases you can pick up at walmart, a curio cabinet, a filecabinet, a wardrobe, and a bed all crammed into a ten by twelve room. There are also milk crates full of books stacked to the ceiling. My room is a TARDIS. I miss my room (which was bigger) in the last house where I had a hidden room of equal size behind my closet.

Seriously you have a great collection.

becca69
05-15-2012, 08:40 AM
Lol.

If I wasn't a neat freak, I would start stacking them everywhere!

Brice
05-15-2012, 08:47 AM
It is just an impossibility to not stack them in milk crates. All of my valuable books of course are safely tucked away in bookcases. It is just the common stuff in milk crates. Eventually I need to prune back my books. I am thinking getting rid of about 95% of the non-king non-horror books which means maybe two hundred books not including mass markets. Most of what i have falls into one of those two categories. I have already read almost all of my books. I have run out of walls to put bookcases against. :( The only option I can see is getting the stackable barrister bookcases and stacking to the ceiling around the whole room.

becca69
05-15-2012, 09:53 AM
That's pretty pricey... I would rather buy books :D

My problem is that most of my books have been signed (mostly in person) so I would have a hard time parting with them.

Brice
05-15-2012, 09:59 AM
Well, My SK collection (not including mass markets) fills three of those bookcases, the curio cabinet, and the file cabinet (though that's not full). Then there's a barrister case full of signed books by other authors. The rest are just mostly random books I've picked up. The bulk of which is horror...which I've adored since I was very little. I don't think any of my books were signed in person though I do have a couple personalized from others going to signings and being kind. :D

And yes, I agree pricey and I'd really rather buy books, but I like those cases Bob has enough I could maybe see myself buying them one shelf at a time and building them up to that. It is just a consideration.

becca69
05-15-2012, 10:51 AM
I want them too (probably will never have). I just want everything at once and done. I'm not really good at waiting.

Brice
05-15-2012, 11:07 AM
Oh, I don't do waiting either. I am an impulse shopper and FAR greater at spending money than I am at acquiring it.

This magazine is notable for a story by an ASPIRING sci fi writer from New Jersey.

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t173/fatuhiva/DSCN2699.jpg~original
It apparently isn't in any of the Charles Grant bibliographies. (I'd love to be proven wrong.) Also I talked to Kathryn Ptacek (BTW: she's an incredibly nice woman) about it and she thought she recognized it, but could only find reference to a story he did later in the same magazine.

Tim: not to mislead. This is mostly older stuff I just hadn't posted. There's quite a bit of that. Most of the most special items are now posted though. Still there is lots more to post. The only relatively new thing here I think is the Dark Score Stories book.

Thanks everyone! :)

Okay, there might not be new pics in here for awhile because my camera is close to dead. There is some good news though...there is LOTS more to post. Today I went through my collection and it's somewhere between 450-500 different items if you include promo stuff and everything King related so when I can post pics again there will be a lot. :)

1) That Trolley book looks freakin' sweet!

2) Are there any King works in the Parade or Television newspaper thingys?

1. Yes, it's pretty fuckin' awesome.

2. No King works really. I believe the Parade had an interview and the Television an article on the Storm Of The Century movie. I'll have to check to be sure though.

Congrats on these Brice. The Edward Lee book looks amazing which prompted me to read a synopsis on the book which made this book even more amazing.

:emot-cthulhu:

Oh, yeah...Ed Lee's Lovecractian stuff is a treat. Much MUCH more graphic on the sex and violence though.

LOL I'm enjoying seeing the offers, but ultimately it's not for sale. Well, I mean unless the offer was just so ridiculous I couldn't say no, but since my family is half Sicilian I'm used to making the offers people CAN'T refuse. ;) Y'all are cracking me up though. Seriously, it came from a good friend who sort of needed the money a long time back. Any sale (which I don't plan on ) would include them having first right of refusal.

Oh, and thanks guys! I like it a lot too. Cook, there may be another, but I haven't seen one anywhere either.

There is a crease on the cover. I could easily fix this by swapping my other cover so no one could tell, but I won't.

What is that ROSE MADDER pic? A dust jacket?

Why is 'SALEMS 'LOT in a book about great horror films? (or is it subtitled, '...and some horrible horror films too.'?)

I believe it's from the story's original magazine appearance (which I haven't got yet). I don't remember what that was though.

I like them a lot myself. You know though I'm not sure how many of that one there are (although of course more than 1 volume). They seem to be split almost arbitrarily. Skeleton Crew is 2 books, Nightmares & Dreamscapes is one, Cell is two. It just seems to be without rhyme or reason.

Since I can't read Japanese I'm not sure those are really Stephen King books. Say, why is there a cell phone on the cover of that one book, I don't get it.

Hi Brice, as mentioned in Adam's thread, I have restored all your thread images using the photobucket '~original' hack. I cant guarantee how long this will work (but it has lasted a while so far). Moving images to the site gallery is the best option long term.
