I think Collectors are going to be very intrigued with the final book.
Right now we have less than 100 unique individuals who have donated $10 or more. Were we to double that, each person would have greater than a 1/200 chance.

<------------just had an idea........the winner could supply or designate from a published list the book they want inscribed......possible. Imagine winning and choosing (insert book choice here).
Just thoughts, so you can quote me, but don't hold me to the "winner choose the book" idea.

If the Grand Prize is a book supplied to the winner I would like to get a signed F/F UK 1st edition of CARRIE or a signed 11/22/63 proof, please.

If I have to supply a book from my own collection to be signed it will be my best UK 1st edition of THE STAND or my slipcased edition of KNOWING DARKNESS (now wouldn't THAT be an awesome book to have signed)?

I mentioned in the announcement thread that for the Grand Prize drawing each person will only have their name entered once. For subsequent drawings (2nd, 3rd, etc) it will be a weighted drawing.

OK, got it!

If we got to choose, that would be really rough. There are so many that I would like to have a signed copy of, like the easton press Dead Zone for example would be very cool to have signed. I know I would not choose a proof, though.

If King were to personalize/inscribe one book in my collection, I would likely choose my 1st edition of THE GUNSLINGER. Then I would ask Michael Whelan to do the same.

(All wishful thinking in this case since I am ineligible for our Fundraiser drawing.)

Randall Flagg

The decision is not final, but it is unlikely (this year) that the winner can specify (and supply) a book.
It still is a remote possibility, but rest assured that the winner will be greatly pleased.

I wonder how many signed copies Storm of the Century are out there?

At least a dozen fakes!

Well I know there is one less as I destroyed one. My mother thought she was getting me a great present and it turned out to be a fake. It wasn't to bad, but I am no expert and even I had my doubts. After consulting with many of the trusted big collectors on here, it was determined to be a fake. Not one person even gave it a second look. So I cut the sig page out and donated the book to the local used bookstore that ships them overseas for the troops !
Mom still doesn't know !

Good Luck. This is going to be an interesting drawing (of The One..). The prize will be priceless, and the pool is small (right now). I'd be flabbergasted-but pleased if there were more than 150 people in the drawing.

I have asked Brian freeman at Cemetery Dance to be the neutral party conducting the drawing for The Grand Prize. I will be sending Brian an envelope containing the "tickets" with each qualifying entrants name on them. He will shake them up and announce the winner. Cemetery Dance (and their partners, employees etc.) are not eligible to win the Grand prize. Additionally, staff members of TheDarkTower.org and Stephen King affiliated publishers and artists are not eligible to win.
This really be the "I know the winner" type drawing as there will likely be less than 100 entrants, most every one of them a member here.
I will handle the weighted drawing for the alternate prizes-too much work for Brian.:)

Congrats Oy, that's going to be awesome. Now the question is "What the heck is the book?"
Where have you been the last 2 months? :)
Book:

Stephen King has agreed to personalize and sign a book for our Grand prize drawing winner!

We have a very special book that once personalized by King will likely be a one of a kind.
I won't reveal the book yet, but here are the details for the Grand Prize drawing:

Anyone who donates $10 (Paypal, cash, check, accepted auction item) or more to our 2011 Haven Foundation Fundraiser receives one entry into the drawing. The Paypal widget at the top of each screen is the easiest way to donate, use the drop down box next to the "Give" button to choose $10 or more. You may donate more than $10, and you may donate more than once (and we would appreciate it), but for the Grand Prize ONLY, the limit is one entry per person. Cutoff to donate and be entered is 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time May 19, 2011.

For our other giveaway items it will be a weighted drawing. EVERY $10 donation puts the donors name in the drawing one time. If you make seven $10 donations, your name will go in the drawing pool seven times.
Staff members, as well as owners and employees of Specialty King publishers are ineligible for the Grand Prize, but can be entered into the regular drawing. Patrick and I are ineligible for any all prizes.

More news to come.....

Sneak Preview:

Glenn Chadbourne did full page original art on TWO pages of a Cemetery Dance Gift edition of Full dark, No Stars. He also dated and numbered the art. We have higher resolution pics coming, but here is a sneak preview. (BTW, try and decipher the writing on the page next to the rats head on the second remarque).

Here is the Wall for 2010. (http://www.thedarktower.org/?page=2010wall)
