In a move shocking to Red Sox fans worldwide, Stephen King has agreed to buy part ownership in the New York Yankees.
Sources close to the deal say that King, a lifelong Red Sox fan was frustrated with attempts to buy the Boston Red Sox. When offered 10% ownership in the Yankees, King jumped at the opportunity.
According to King: “The Yankees are the preeminent franchise in all of professional sports, while The Red Sox, despite recent success are perennial losers. I could not pass on this chance to be part of a winning team”.

You know, forgetting April 1st for a moment and assuming the Stienbrenner's would ever allow it or King would consider it, you think 'Ol Steve actually has the scratch? Last I recall The Yanks were worth around a Billion dollars. That would make 10% worth $100 Million. Now I know Steve is swimming in it, but to that tune?

Just spit-balling. Woulda been a hoot if he did that when George was still alive. I can see the Headlines now..................

Yankee Principal Owner and Prominent Author Locked in Cage match to the Death!!!!!!!!

Jeter says, "George, is stronger than he looks. I know, we threw down a few times. If you don't believe me have King resurrect Billy Martin and ask him"!!!!!!

lol Actually, there may be a King novel in there somewhere!!!!

lol :excited:
