What is wrong with The City of Angels?

In my lifetime, what I think is the second biggest tekevision market in the United States has tried and failed three times to have a professional football team. Los Angles supports 2 NBA teams (Lakers, Clippers) and an MLB team. But the Rams failed in L.A. and the Raiders failed twice.
Would someone with some insight please enlighten me.

Too many other entertainment options for people to spend that much money on tickets? Just a guess. Oh, and they have USC to occupy their football needs.
