I would probably have voted for The Simpsons, if Matt Groening had gracefully retired about a decade ago. That being said, MWC all the way.

Hill Street Blues. I just loved the ensemble casting.

Simpsons. Love Married With Children but Simpsons is a part of society like no other TV show, not to mention something I've watched my entire life.

I love 90's Simpsons, but that show has been shite from the new millennium onwards.

Really surprised to see MWC leading. But of course it's still early.

That being said, MWC all the way.Right, because that show didn't wear out its welcome; as befit the type of program that it was, it ran for only eleven years. Just another way in which the word "gracefully" so perfectly applies to MWC.

I've watched it my entire life too, which I'm beginning to regret. Although, this season hasn't been as dreadful as the last couple.

I completely agree with you. The last few seasons of Married with Children were completely ridiculous, but it didn't stagger alone for another decade after its writers admitted that they were just doing it to continue receiving fat paychecks. I don't have a problem with that, BTW. I just don't want anyone to pretend that The Simpsons didn't peter out many, many years ago.

All these comments about MWC and Simpsons ( ie - they're past their prime, the 90s were the best episodes, etc ) ... that is exactly why I voted Hill Street Blues. It never jumped the shark, it remained relevant and well acted through-out its entire run.

I stopped watching new Simpson's years ago. But the old Simpsons is so good it's impossible for me to not vote. Eleven years of great episodes is worth voting and judging from the odd new episodes I see, they still produce some gems. If no one has seen the episode where Homer buys an Ice Cream truck haha, it's pure gold.

Married With Children is good but not great. I appreciate it though. It turned the sitcom family around. Most of the fathers were portrayed almost was heros to the family, they had a good/decent job, people looked up to them. Then Al Bundy comes and he's a failure, stuck on his high school football days when people admired him and his family simply does not respect nor care about him, he hates his job and thinks like totally sucks. Peggy was a user and selfish and feigned affection. The kids are both losers and not very good people, neither have sound morals. My favourite episode is the one where all Al has to eat is Toaster Leavin's.

I probably would have voted MWC over anything but the simpsons.

Yeah, but we're not talking about the Best TV Episodes ... we're talking about the whole SERIES . I see your point though. I did the same thing when voting for Happy Days. The last two seasons weren't so great, but the first 7-8 were good fun.

I have always thought MWC was too predictable to be really funny ... you could see the jokes coming a mile away.

Yeah, that's why I said MWC was good but not great. The role of Jefferson filled the void that show had, when Steve was in the first couple seasons. Not that he was bad but Jefferson had that charisma factor every character was missing, so he was pretty counter culture to the rest of the show.

Haven't even heard of it. I didn't watch much TV back then. Don't much now save for a couple of shows.

In regards to MWC, I actually feel that the show got better as time went on. The earlier shows where not as funny as the latter ones, IMO. Also, Al and Jefferson had amazing on screen chemistry, you could almost believe they hang out and act like that IRL.
