I remember watching Murder, She Wrote with my mom all the time as it was one of her favorite shows but Transformers was one of those must-see after-school cartoons.

I had a ton of the toys too. Just sold them all a few years ago.

I'm torn. I think I just might vote Transformers. Not that I think it was as great as the hype it gets these days.
Good cartoon, though, overall. Still, it is up against a pretty classic mystery series here. This poll is really apples and oranges. <_< Tough call.

Murder, She Wrote - for me that's an easy choice.

Transformers totally. I remember the waiting when it first came out. The cartoon really looked cool. It delivered on the coolness factor as well. At first it came on once a week on Saturday morning at 7am. We actually set our alarm to wake us up in time to get up and watch this one show. Not that we ever needed the alarm since we were up and ready to see the fight between Optimus Prime and Megatron as Autobot fought Decepticon in a battle for energon and the planet Cybertron with the fate of mankind hanging in the balance.

It was AWESOME!!!

I love Angela Lansbury-especially on the stage-but seriously, Murder She Wrote? Try Sominex She Wrote. Am I right?

TRANSFORMERS!

Agreed on Transformers delivering when it first came out; the premise and basic execution definitely transcended the show's origins as a shoot-em-up toy marketing vehicle. What I liked most, though, was Cybertron and the later truly cosmic spacebourne adventures. The 1986 Transformers animated movie was awesome. I've thought about it, though, and I have to vote for Murder, She Wrote, for two reasons. First, I can't remember an episode of that show which I thought was totally stupid or completely bad, and I can't say that about Transformers. Remember those entire seasons that revolved around the Dinobots?
Second reason: Harry MacGraw. I nearly forgot about him. What a great character! I also enjoyed the spin-off from Murder, She Wrote that they created from him... and the "spin-off" Transformers series (that is, the later cartoons that tried to revive the mythos) were not at all as good as the originals (or the original comic books) IMO. (And, please, don't even get me started on those lame feature films of recent times.)

Well, Megan Fox is beyond contempt. That's not even up for debate. Still, I'm going with the iconic '80s cartoon.
