Dammit! Moonlighting is not real likely to get the recognition it deserves with a match-up like this, is it?

If not for all these shows of later impact which started late-80s, I'd definitely call it the greatest program of the decade. It really started this country's must-watch trend in episodic prime time, and was a great comedy that worked on a lot of other levels.

Can't deny how effectively TNG raised the Trek tradition, though. *arg*

Oh, no, not these two! How can I choose one over the other?
One was my favorite when I was in my teens (was shown in Russia under the name "Detective Agency 'Moon Light'"), the other I saw and came to love later (in my early twenties) - different times in life, different likes.
I have to think some more about it - can't really decide right away.

I liked Moonlighting, but Star Trek: TNG wins by a long shot.

I was never into Star Trek past the original series. I loved Moonlighting though!! It lost it a bit towards the end when David and Maddie got all serious and angsty, but the seasons prior to that were awesome.

TNG no doubt. Only Star Trek I can tolerate watching.
