The guy whose Elliott's family chose to catalog all his music just announced that he's probably going to add another bonus disk to New Moon. He said he's discovered more than enough for another album.

This is wonderful news. :)

I like this. A lot. And the light show in that video isn't bad either.

I love their cover of this song.
Is the video from the Halloween show? or is it a different one?
Can you post it up, I'd love to see it.

I like it that more people are posting the album art when they listen to whole albums, and also that people still listen to whole albums. I love my playlists as much, if not more than, the next person, but I do still believe in the full album when it's done right.

I've recently started listening to whole albums a lot more.
Especially with new music, it really helps to get a taste of the artist - kind of an immersion of sorts.
Also, that way I can pick out my favorite tracks without someone telling me "this is the best one." (Although I definitely appreciate recommendations like that as well, as long as they're from people who's opinions I value.)

I think of this album as the twinner of Miles' Kind of Blue. This collaboration with Adderley led to Adderley's presence at the Kind of Blue sessions. The feel of the album foreshadowed much of what was to come a year later with Kind of Blue.

Any of the jazz critics who said the changes Miles made to his sound with Bitches Brew came out of nowhere obviously never listened to this album because it foreshadows a lot of what was to come. I think that's why I love it so much. It's the perfect bridge between the second acoustic quintet and the electric bands of the 70's.

Damn straight you are. :)

How is the Sunn O)))?

I read a few reviews that raved about it and I ordered it this morning. I understand they worked with Eyvind Kang for some of it. That caught my attention right away since he's worked with all three members of my "Living Guitarist Holy Trinity" of Ribot, Frisell and Timothy Young (as well as Zorn and Secret Chiefs and tons of other cool shit).

Frunobulax

Gotta say, it's a great album. I was dubious at first, but they pulled through and have made what may be one of their best since Black One (which is a high water mark in my book).

Well that does sound promising! I gotta say, I love the recent pairings of drone/noise bands with downtown and avant-garde jazz musicians, Sunn O))) with Eyvind Kang, Earth with Bill Frisell. What's next, Boris and Ribot? Holy shit, could you imagine!?!

Boris/Ribot would probably explode heads out of sheer power. Boris/Merzbow is a great combo. If they wanted that again, Boris/NON would be sick.

Well, Zorn brought in the power trio Rashanim to do "Masada Rock." Perhaps he can bring in Boris to do "Masada Noise" or pair Merzbow up with Marc for "Merzribot" ;)

BvF is the last studio album from John Dwyer (Pink + Brown, Thee Oh Sees, etc.) and company under the name Coachwhips. It's 11 songs of brutal no-fi punk, with JD singing through a converted telephone receiver thru an amp. Singularly impressive and grungy, this is what Dwyer is all about.
