Listen for It/Courtyard Music - No Kids

This band's debut album, Come Into My House, is like of Montreal crossed with Hot Chip. Part electronic a la Hot Chip's early material, part indie pop in the vein of Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer or The Sunlandic Twins. All I can say is, this is one of the best albums I've heard from last year just because it's so damn catchy and light. Nick Krgovich has a great ear for off kilter melodies that stick with you.

Ah, The Dreamers album. The band he put together for that one and The Gift is just phenomenal. It's some of Marc Ribot's most beautiful playing for Zorn outside of the Bar Kokhba band. I've found that people that can't quite get into Zorn (and that's many people I've played him for) all still seem to really like those two albums. It's his most "accessible" stuff.
