hello all

There seemed a need so I searched out a modification to the site that automatically searches for specific URL's and turns them into embedded media.

Meaning: You can simply copy the URL for the video (where every you have it) and the site will automatically turn it into a media window and player.

I know many sites have a link you can copy to embed them but it sometimes doesn't work and this also keeps the window consistent with the site.

So I paste a simple YouTube link like this

YouTube - Teasing Jimmy

It turns it into what you see, that window used to be the simple URL link

Here is how the coder describes it.

AME scans new and edited posts for pre-defined patterns of URLs (i.e. youtube's). If it finds a match, it swaps the url tag for an ame tag.
When a post get parsed for bbcode and an ame tag is found, instead of hammering away at the post with umpteen bbcodes, AME quietly figures out which pre-defined embedding should be placed there and... viola', you have a pretty little embedded video

It is also upgradeable because there are so many video hosting options up there, here is a list of what is supported or can be

AME comes configured with YouTube, Myspacetv, Google Video, Bolt, iFilm, Yahoo, Dailymotion, Amazon and MetaCafe Support built in. Since the amount of providers are always changing and most sites will only need a particular amount, AME has been designed with an import and export system to allow members to easily share formats with one another. In fact, the second post of this thread is updated periodically to relflect those add ons. Currently there are over 12 more additional formats contributed by AME users. I was wondering about that Jerome, that FileFront stuff may be a little different since there is a download involved, I will look at it.

The rest work a charm though.

I have been doing my best to make sure the Automated Media Embedder (AME) on the site will recognize all the different hosting services that you guys use for video

It works very well for everything but FileFront. So I asked for support.

They said there are a couple of different links you can use for posting when hosting your video's at FileFront. One is to download the file (that's the one you guys are using), it doesn't work with the product.

There is also another on that is just the flat link that will work. I don't know anything about FileFront but here is what he said, hopefully it will make sense.

So, if you go to filefront.com right now, and look at the 3rd tab over just above the video player, you will see the word "video". Click on it..........after the page refresh's, you will see a bunch of thumbnails with images, go ahead and click on one of them......I clicked on the second one, which has the name intro.wmv. Once that refreshes, you should be brought to another page with a video player. Now, go ahead and copy the address in the address bar which is http://files.filefront.com/introwmv/.../fileinfo.html (http://files.filefront.com/introwmv/;8758251;/fileinfo.html) .......now take that address and paste it in a post on your site and click save........once you have done that, you should now be able to watch that trailer/video on your site.......

So I am hoping one of you could try and sort that out and then let me know. I can turn the product back on and we can test it right here.

I believe it should just be the URL part Jerome but let me turn it on and see how it likes that.

Thanks for posting it

I had it off so it wouldn't ruin the links from there, its on now so we can test it.
