That means you're awesome too.

Don't feel bad about leaving something out, we were limited to only a dozen songs. There are dozens more that any of us could have added to our lists.

Hey Lisey, it's been a week now. Isn't it time for the next theme?

Girlystevedave
11-01-2010, 07:14 PM
Whenever I hear Everlong, I clearly remember being 16 or so, laying on my bed with my boyfriend, listening to that song. I felt so connected with the lyrics at that moment cause I knew that nothing would ever "be this good again" (assuming we'd break up after high school like everyone does). If only I knew then that in 13 years we'd be married with a kid and a mortgage and tons of debt.

And Lisey: What Patrick said.
Bring it on! Bring it on!

This has been my favorite challenge yet. :)

Groove is in the Heart
(for me, this equates to a show choir mix...that's the only time I dance! But I have danced to all of these songs)

1. Stay Young - We the Kings
2. Anyway You Want It - Journey
3. Don't Stop Me Now - Queen
4. Just Dance - Lady Gaga (I know, I know...but it was a fun girl's piece!)
5. Let Me Entertain You - Robbie Williams
6. Hook Me Up - Bon Jovi
7. You Make Me Feel Like Dancing - Leo Sayer
8. The Middle - Jimmy Eat World
9. Wonder Why - Avalon
10. Big Man on Mulberry Street - Billy Joel
11. Worlds Apart (Separate Ways) - Journey
12. Man in the Mirror - Michael Jackson

yeah...we had some weird shows, with all of those songs. But put on any of those, or more, and I will immediately start doing our dance...so much fun!

Heartbreaker - the break up mix
I've only ever been dumped in one relationship, and she left me a long teary weepy sobbing voicemail a week later to take her back. I waited until I knew she was at work and left her #1 on her voicemail. These aren't in any order, just as I think of them.

1. Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River
2. Bob Marley - No Woman, No Cry (very true, I might add)
3. Brian Adams - Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman
4. Cary Brothers - Blue Eyes
5. Hootie and the Blowfish - Let Her Cry
6. Tracy Chapman - Give Me One Reason
7. Third Eye Blind - How it's gonna be
8. Stroke 9 - Lil Black Backpack
9. Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
10 Limp Bizkit - It'll Be Ok
11. Rehab - Sitting At A Bar
12. RHCP - Scar Tissue

2. Scream it Until You're Coughing Up Blood - Against Me!
3. Blood to Bleed - Rise Against
4. Broken Promise Ring -The Ataris
5. Hello Sadness -Lucero
6. Ain't So Lonely -Lucero
7. Everything Means Nothing to Me -Elliot Smith
8. All I Want is More -Reel Big Fish
9. Self Esteem - The Offspring
10. Beer- Reel Big Fish
11. Where Have You Been? - Reel Big Fish
12. 99 Problems Jay-Z

There seems to be an abundance of Reel Big Fish on my breakup song list. I think this list sort of plots the rollercoaster of emotions that come with a breakup and trying to get over someone.

I really don't care either what people think about what I listen to, but I approached this a little differently. I thought of it as those songs that I'm actually surprised I like because of perceptions I have about certain genres and artists. Like Miley Cyrus for example. I totally don't like her or what she represents, but I have to admit I will crank "See You Again" when it comes on the radio.
