This is the bulk of my library. I have 30 or so art (sci-fi) oriented books i don't currently have pictures of, and a bunch of paperback sci-fi from the 60's and 70's also no pictures as i have no shelf space for them. The majority is Stephen King as you will see. It is no where near as expansive or impressive as most of the collections here, but i am as happy as i can be with it for the moment.

Yes, the first four are book club editions  may not be worth anything, but same great reads right? :)

That Art of Walt Disney takes me back a ways. It was one of the first books I ever bought for my wife! A simply lovely book in all ways!

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've logged on here, and that I've added so little to my collection in that time, sadly. Just got sidetracked with work and such I suppose.

The copy of Dolores Claiborne previous to this had water damage and needed to be replaced.

http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r608/deadohsky/Untitled-4.jpg

That crease is just on the clear cover over the jacket not on the jacket itself (I've run out of them)

http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r608/deadohsky/Untitled.jpg
http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r608/deadohsky/Untitled-3.jpg

I've got a copy of The Wind Through The Keyhole Artist Edition ordered and hopefully on the way (my girlfriend ordered it for me hence not being completely sure if it is on the way yet lol).

Can anyone enlighten me on the significance of the coloring of the boards on earlier books, like Dolores Claiborne? The original copy I replaced had orange boards and the new one has white. Is it a later printing? As far as I could tell the copyright pages are identical to one another.

Thanks in advance for any help. It's good to be back, I almost forgot how fun it is just looking through this place.

Wow, so weird. I've always glanced at the cover of Dolores Claiborne and saw a doll at the bottom of a well. Now I see that is not so.

Some great stuff & just to let you know that The Art of Walt Disney book came with a clear glassine dust wrapper with the title & authors name on the cover write-up & other book information on the end flaps. VERY FRAGILE & I am sure most of them are gone after 34 years. Mine has a few cracks & chips and I bought it new. The reissue in 1975 did not have a glassine wrapper.

Thanks for the link, jhanic.

needfulthings, Yeah, I was aware of that and unfortunately, although not surprisingly, mine is nowhere to be found. I might have ruined it myself actually. My parents got the book for me as a toddler. When I rediscovered it after they passed I noticed that as a child I had traced around Mickey and his paint bucket with a pencil, thankfully I was able to clean it up without any damage.

I keep forgetting that I bought some of the Marvel comics, the ones I could find easily anyway.

Usually the white paste downs on Viking books indicate a book club edition. In many instances they look almost identical except for the colored paste downs. (I'm guessing that's what you meant since the boards are black.)

Yeah, I meant the paste downs. Thank you, that's exactly what I needed to know.

I believe you are correct, I overlooked that the dust jacket has no price, dead give away there. I can't say I've come across a book club edition as good of a quality as this is, that's what kept throwing me off. Everything about the book itself is the same quality/ identical as my damaged 1st, just those paste downs are different. Didn't realize they were so sneaky with some of their book club editions. Thanks a lot Becca.

Thanks, glad to be of service then lol. They are really nice, I'm grateful there wasn't more damage. Some of my favorite paste downs/end pages. Just as good as the other Grant DT firsts. These ones are smooth and somewhat glossy compared to the previous books.

Thanks, Bad Penny. I always feel mine (photo presentations) are lackluster compared to most here, yours included. I just try to show the important bits or bits I think people would be interested in seeing.

Anyway, this is a current updated photo of my Dark Tower books:

Taking photos is certainly a learning curve (some of my early stuff is bloody awful - some of the newer stuff still is :rolleyes3:) - I reckon you're doing pretty okay (and I like your DT lineup - including the Plume 1sts - nice set) :)

I just don't have enough DT to completely fill that shelf yet; The Shining, Night Shift, and The Dead Zone are also on that shelf. I wish they were first editions, I can't afford those yet though lol. Carrie, Salem's Lot, The Shining, and Night Shift are unfortunately all book club.

I'm in the same boat. Just waiting for that once in a lifetime garage sale find.
