King isn't that popular in the Netherlands anymore. Over the years, the stack of the new King at Donner (one of our largest, most popular bookstores) has dwindled in size...from huge (I remember the piles and piles of Desperation/Regulators) to just a few. And I will never forget the face of the salesperson, when I asked her where I could find the new King, which was The Colorado kid. She just pointed at the shelf and said...over there... And there it was, just one copy. I asked her where the other copies were (like to choose my copy, of course) and she looked at me....Other copies?? Stephen King??? Nah.....This is all we ordered.

I'm glad in our small country there are still a couple of die-hards left...

BTW, are you sure the limited Gevangen/Under the Dome is sold out? Does that include the Dutch fanclub??

Some extra info: The Dark Tower and Stand comics don't have dustjackets, they're printed on board. The only comic with a dustjacket is "Creepshow".

Scribner sent out a bunch of 1st edition hardcovers as 'ARCs' when they ran out of the typical light-blue softcover ARCs. These hardcover ARCs came without a DJ but with an ISBN sticker on the back (Bob has a copy with a proof DJ, but his is the only one I've ever seen).

I purchased a hardcover ARC for $50 at the time and it came without the ISBN sticker. I would sell it to anyone who's interested but it's basically just a well-read trade edition without DJ. Bummer.

This one is WITH the ISBN-sticker. I've compared it with the trade-hardcover, as well and couldn't find any differences.
(Found this one on ebay, only listed for 15 minutes, with a $12 BIN.)

I have a proof dj but it is on a regular hc first edition, not on the ARC hc edition. I suppose I could switch dj's but I have always (usually) resisted doing things like that. Quite some time ago we've had a discussion if certain books can be collectable, even if they are ex-library.
The Dutch, Large Print, books of publisher "Uitgeverij XL" are only distributed directly to libraries (at least, that's what we've been told).
