A tight race between Capra and Welles for me, but ultimately I went with the latter.

Capra
Capra, what? I can see only one vote for Capra, and it is mine.

feve... this one was cruel... but Capra was my nominee, so I had to sacrifice Cukor and Welles...

Simple...I typed Capra before Heather even had a chance to put the poll up. :)

Oh, this was NOT easy.

Went with Cukor because of Philadelphia Story and Gaslight. If you haven't seen both, then you should before you vote for someone else.

Also ... if you think you know Cukor's films ... click his IMDB page before you vote ... it's nothing short of amazing.

Oh, I do love Orson Welles. Sincerely. He's amazing. However, given a choice between sitting through Orson's catalog and sitting through Cukor's ... I'd rather sit through all of Cukor's.

They're both incredibly talented, but Cukor has the humor that I think is mostly missing in all of Welles' work.

( and for those Welles fans ... you better have seen The Magnificent Ambersons!! )
