UMMMM...wtf?

If you know what I'm looking for, it'll make sense.

Okayyy... I have no idea what you're looking for, but I'll start breaking it down as I see it.

I see that letters and numbers are paired together for the most part, and that the pairs advance in numerical order as you read through the series (i.e. H1, H2, H3, H4), EXCEPT for the E's. We get a repeat of E1 and E2 at the end, with the E7and E8 thrown in between.

There are three letters mysteriously not paired with a number at the end of their lines (S, A, and V). There is also a random J in the second line that does not have a number with it.

Does the numerical progression have anything to do with it, J&Y? Is it a code that needs to be broken?

The numerical progression has everything to do with it. :) There's a reason for the repeat with the E's, and for some of the letters not being paired with numbers (although where they're placed in the lines has nothing to do with it).

It's not a code, no. But there's a reason each line contains what it does.

Does this involve genetics?

Holy shiz, I really have no freakin' clue on this one, hahaha.

Does it have anything to do with graphing or coordinates?

Well...in a way, I suppose you could say that....

@Rjeso: No, it has nothing to do with graphing or coordinates.

Nobody's onto anything with this one, haha.

How about a teeny hint? Pleeeeease? :D

John_and_Yoko

Well, there's a reason for the word "bastard" in the title (I don't usually swear).

If you're English you might get the answer....

a family tree?

It's the rulers of england with their "designation" in the order they ruled...possibly also by house?

For instance: H4H5H6 would be Henry the fourth, fifth, and sixth, then E4E5R3 would be Edward the 4th and 5th, then Richard the 3rd?

Is that the right track?

My thoughts exactly--the riddle's half-answered.

Well, I think the riddle itself has been answered, and I'll take a quarter of that fair day goose for doing about a quarter of the names... sorry if it's not as complete as you would like...

But why not answer the entire riddle, since you now know what the rest of it is? :(

I'm sorry--but life comes before riddles. I have time to spare a few minutes each day to check here, but not enough time to pull all the names in this riddle and post them here.

I can understand life coming before riddles, but since you know basically what this one's about, you could just go to wikipedia and look for a list.... Or someone else could....

 Coin collecting?

Your answers are right of course, with the following exceptions:

You didn't have numbers for the "Mary"s, or James I, and you missed two of the monarchs.

I'll give you the missing numbers since that's easy, but care to guess which monarchs you skipped for half the goose? (The other half, of course, goes to Maturins_Daughter. :D )

Maybe King Philip (of Philip and Mary) and Oliver Cromwell (not a King, but tell that to his army).... That's my best shot at the goose-portion without looking it up, and that's no fun.

Nope. Go back and look at the letters you missed.
