Hi Everyone,

It has been a bad weekend for me. Two of my best friends were killed in a motorcycle accident on Friday night. They were on two seperate bikes and ran into the back of the same car. I have buried friends in the past, but never ones so close to me. Please keep their familes in your thoughts.

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. It's always difficult to lose friends, and this is even more so. You are in our thoughts.

Thanks everyone. We buried Josh and Jim yesterday. (and gave them one hell of an Irish wake.) I have been drinking pretty heavily for the past few days, but I finally have gotten myself under control.....mostly. Thanks for the goodmind. Like Josh and Jim....this thread can be moved now to the clearing.

Thanks Billy,

Since this has been bumped, I will give you all an update:

First, I got a tattoo on my left shoulder to memorialize Josh. It is a picture I drew of him on his motercycle heading off into the sunset with his guitar on his back. His daughters name, Addi (Addison), is written on the license plate and it says "The Road Goes On Forever" across the top and Joshua Otwell 3-4-78 - 4-3-10 across the bottom. Now that it has healed, I am about to add the rest, which will be a seascape on the left side and a mountain on the other. With a speed limit sign that says "NO limit". It will be a full half-sleeve when it is done. Pics when it is finished.

2. Josh and I have been in lots of bands together, and most of our friends are musicians, so we have put together a benefit concert for his daughter's education fund. It will be on May 23, and we already have nearly a dozen bands that have agreed to play. Me and a couple of my friends will be the host band, but we only plan to play maybe 10 songs throughout the night. There will be two stages. Hopefully we can raise enough money to give his daughter a nice education fund. (She is three, so there is plenty of time for it to grow)

3. Check out the song I wrote for Josh here (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?t=9398&page=2)

This sucks man, I'm really sorry. It seems my friends are having a bad weekend. One of my good friends that just happens to be a coworker lost his grandpa yesterday as well, he's on his way to Brownfield right now to bury him. :(

Life sucks.

I have buried several family members, all of them at the end of a long life, and that has been much easier to deal with. This is the first really close friend that has died, and it was sudden and tragic, so it has been much harder to cope with.

yes, I agree with that.
