The Rockies have been quite the Cinderella story this year. I wouldn't mind horribly if they won, I guess. I mean, my boys have been in that spot before, I know how it feels. Hee.

Besides, it's looking like the Avs are going to have yet ANOTHER disappointing season, and I'd like to watch at least one of our teams play without having to restrain the urge to throw something through the TV. :lol:

It will be interesting to see who wins. Colorado beat the Sox 2 out of 3 games the last time they played, but the Sox have momentum now and Colorado has 8 days off. It should be good. :)

I guess the story starts tonight! I am not a Sox fan - most people know that - but I am an American League fan. So will I root for the Sox tonight! Just can't bring myself to it - and I have other incentive - there is a bench player on the Rockies that is local to where I live and my boys (high school varsity baseball players right now) know him personally - so I'll be rooting for the Rockies and Jeff Baker! I suspect he might not get an at bat until they get to Colorado where NL rules are in effect, but his pinch hitting stats are quite impressive - and he got the winning pinch hit that clinched a post season series for the Rockies!

I'm a Sox fan but I have to disagree with Matsuzaka. I don't think he is a supertalent and in my opinion it was a waste of money. As I see it Matsuzaka isn't the only pitcher on the staff to help them get to the WS.

He's not the only player I'm talking about, but that was the move that finalized my current opinion of the BSox. Ortiz, Crisp, Ramirez, Papelbon, Schilling, Matsuzaka, etc. are the ones I'm talking about. Lots of money there that a lot of other teams don't have. It's an unfair advantage.

No, it's not going to make those penny-pinching owners spend more on their teams, but it will mean that the teams that have owners who ARE willing to spend money won't be able to go out there and gobble up all the good talent for themselves. Other teams might actually have a shot at getting some good players too if there's a limit to what teams can spend. Sure, the big spenders will still get the cream of the crop, but there'd still be plenty of good gettin' available for other teams.

The only way a cap will work currently is if they implement it and have a grandfather clause. I'm not for or against a cap, but it would take a massive overhaul to make this happen now.
