absolutely. Bears also love those two nobody loves - Roadwork and Blaze - but The Long Walk is the best anyway.

Actually, Roadwork is my favorite of the 4 older Bachman paperback originals. The Long Walk I gave a 4, although it's closer to a 4.5. (My 5-stars are reserved for only a select few).

I really liked Roadwork, probably because it had this crazy, political subtext that wasn't colored by doctrinaire leftism. It has a very free Bachmanesque quality that you don't see in a lot of his later works.

I love your Grandma...
I read this in the 8th grade circa 1987. The Bachman Books and The Gunslinger were both in our school library. Those were my first King reads and i've never looked back...except to reread.:cowboy:
