Towerpedia:Clay Reynolds

Clay Reynolds is a fictional character in author Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series. A member of the Big Coffin Hunters, Reynolds is known for his silk-lined cloak.

Clay Reynolds is a vain womanizer who has been riding with Eldred Jonas since the age of fifteen. He is favored by Jonas because he is smarter than his counterpart Roy Depape.

Reynolds is not as loyal as Depape, however. He has often considered breaking away from Jonas when a better opportunity appears, and is unhappy with being forced to stay in Hambry for an extended period of time, although he finds plenty of diversions with several women in the rooms above the Traveller’s Rest.

Reynolds murders [[Kimba Rimer]] as his part in the plot to frame Roland and his mates for the crime. This has to bring Reynolds some pleasure; he has hated Rimer from the moment the two met, believing Rimer had made fun of his cloak.

Reynolds escapes the ambush in the Bad Grass due to the fact that he is the one elected to take Susan Delgado back to town.

Reynolds escapes Hambry with Coral Thorin. The two form a band of bank robbers, and Reynolds is eventually captured in Oakley, where he is hanged.
