Cool. Looks like I have states 2 & 3. Did they just divide the print run between 3 printers?

quick question, just how hard is it to find a copy of Eyes?
Not hard at all (eBay, ABE Books et al. have copies for sale all the time). It IS hard to find a copy in great condition, though.

It is missing the ‘Printed in the United States of America by’
The other interesting thing is the DJ is smooth on this one, no embossed scales. I thought maybe it was a book club but is has the same ISBN as other 1st printing and the correct price on the DJ

From an interview with the editor, Deborah Brodie (Tyson Blue, Castle Rock Newsletter, March 1987)
The first printing was so large that we split the job of printing the book between two companies: Haddon Craftsmen of Scranton, Pennsylvania and Arcata Graphics. Arcata in turn divided their share between two of their plants, one in Fairfield, Pennsylvania and one in Hawkins County, Tennessee. So there are actually three slightly different copyright pages for the first edition. We didn't include information about the 1984 Philtrum Press limited edition on the copyright page. At Steve's request, we will do so when we reprint...after we sell the first million copies!
Author of The Road to the Dark Tower, Stephen King: A Complete Exploration of His Work, Life, and Influences and The Dark Tower Companion. Co-editor with Stephen King of the anthology Flight or Fright.
So for the copies of EOTD that do not have the textured scales on the dust jacket, does it appear to have scales? I.E. can I tell from a picture if it is the textured version or not? Or would I need to confirm with a seller on ebay if the scales are textured or not?
