It's a big surprise to myself, but here is a King short story collection I am giving a 5... it happens to contain my favoritest story of all times, All That You Love Will Be Carried Away, and a couple of just favorite - Lunch at the Gotham Café and That Feeling, You Can Only Say What It Is in French. 1408, Luckey Quarter and Riding the Bullet weren't anything to sneeze at, either... I am rather indifferent to the rest of the collection, but the ratio of what bears liked to what they didn't seems to be the highest of all King collections.

Ask not what bears can do for you, but what you can do for bears. (razz)
When one is in agreement with bears one is always correct. (mae)

    bears are back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a HUGE fan of King's short stories and this collection is no exception. Definite 5.

This WAS a very strong showing, but it still had a few weak spots. Really, I don;t think any of King's collections will be able to get a 5 from me, but if one were going to it would be this one or Just After Sunset (which was another strong showing I though), but I just can't see it when you look at the weakest story of the collection and find it wanting, even needing, something more. (That story was L.T.'s Theory of Pets btw.) I give it a very strong 4, but really can't see going higher than that.
Margaret Emmie Mackey Catoe, you are, have been, and always will be my soulmate, and I love you.

I've read many of the stories in this book, but not all. I don't have to tell you why I bought it, but the other stories in it have been enjoyable as well.

I liked all the stories but the only one I keep it around for is LSoE. Most King short stories just fade on me, I can barely remember half of the dozens I've read.

A 4 from me. I don't remember all the stories but I do recall enjoying the book.

This collection really didn't do anything for me but going by the posts here, that's more my fault than King's. I've loved his other short stories. I couldn't even get through N&D the first time I tried because it totally creeped me out. And Nightshift is my alltime favourite collection. This one just didn't grab me like the others. Maybe a reread is in order...

I only have one audiobook on my iPhone, (The Gunslinger), but I would like to have more. I may just see if I can find that one.

Some excellent stories, those that Jean listed as well as Autopsy Room 4. Some misses though. I give it a 4.

discordiasile, I'm sorry but the poll is closed, but do go ahead and vote in the other two brackets that are still open, #11 and #12! And come back when Round 2 begins!
