    Default Great Music - Round 1: 1975-1979 (Group 14 of 16)

During the first round of The Great Music Tournament, please vote for up to five tracks you would like to move onto the next round. The top five tracks will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given track receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do listen to each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a track well, it's still worth giving it a listen for a refresher.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

The nominees are (please let me know if any video doesn't play for you):

Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive (1977)

Electric Light Orchestra - Mr. Blue Sky (1977)

    Gary Numan - Cars (1979)

Vicki Sue Robinson - Turn the Beat Around (1976)

Queen - We Will Rock You (1977)

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (1975)

    M - Pop Muzik (1979)

I know there is some distaste for "novelty" songs here, but IMO Pop Muzik is so catchy, how can you not love it?

(Oh, and I'm glad to see Gary Numan getting some votes so far. )

I'm not a big fan of ELO, but I'm really surprised to see "Mr. Blue Sky" out of it already.

Wish You Were Here is low key one of the saddest songs ever.
It's also a great song, lyrically speaking.
