Forget 'em, Bill! Some people just don't appreciate real talent when they see it!

I'm pretty much through the UPS and International orders and onto the USPS domestic orders. The only exception would be if you ordered after we started shipping the pre-orders, those will ship after we ship all of the pre-orders. Things are going to slow down a bit here though as our Holiday help is pretty much gone at this point so the speed of shipping has been pretty much halved. If your's is an international order for a single gift edition shoot me an email and I can check on it for you.

The remarqued copies will ship after the Gift Edition are completed. We'll post a note when the first ones go out the door. Thanks!

Thanks for the info Brian. I was wondering what the timeframe is on the Lettered edition? I didn't see it mentioned on the production updates page of the CD site.

We're making a style of case that we've never used before for any project, so I'm not entirely sure of the production schedule. Our case maker is closed for the holidays for another 10 days or so, but I'll ask them about the schedule once they're back. (They couldn't start before the holidays because these Lettered Editions are hand-bound and they needed a finished copy for sizing.) I'll probably wait to post any kind of date until they officially start rolling, just to be safe, but I will post something as soon as they give me a reasonably solid date. I just don't want to say "April" and have that turn out to be wrong.

I'm compiling a list of custom slipcases from CD. These exclude books published by CD that came with a slipcase as part of the original package. So it's primarily 1st Trade editions of books where CD made an aftermarket slipcase for them.

Not sure if a separate thread on slipcases is in order, but just looking at CD for now. This is what I have, so if there's errors or any that are missing, let me know. I've added links where I could find a page on them. Thanks.

Nice List - I just need Duma Key and the UK 11/22/63 and the UK Dr Sleep. I have the new ones on order
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

    Dan,
How many orders does it take to make it worth producing a slipcase?
For example, I'd love to have one for Pet Semetery, Dead Zone, Christine etc... ultimately it would be nice to have
one for all King books but does that take a 100 orders, a 1000?? What's it worth to do it?
    thanks!

400 units is pretty much the minimum run for our vendors to have the price be reasonable.

Simon and I were discussing this and pooling resources to get some done through Jeff Whiley. We should get that ball rolling I think.

To give folks an idea of cost, Jeff can get a plate made to pretty much any specification. Cost of the plate is directly related to the size. Anywhere between £8 and £40. Charge for slipcase averages around £13.

Obviously the cost of the plate is a one off as it can be used again and again. A separate plate is required if the spine is to be embossed as well.
Costs could be kept down by having the slipcases just embossed on the spine or just have a generic 'Stephen King' on the front (this plate is already made and would incur no additional cost)
Personally I would like to have each one specific to the book, if we got 10 people to split the plate cost it becomes very reasonable (.80p to £4 each, depending on size)

And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
