The very thinnest of arguments; all films on the list are listed under the film noir genre on IMDB except Casablanca. I admit, I will have to think about exactly why I don't consider it noir. It's a Drama/Romance/War film that is wearing noir clothes. It's way too hopeful of a film to be a noir. Rick is the anti-hero sure but by the end he's sentimental and does what's best for everyone else besides himself. And Ingrid Bergman is not a femme fatale. If anything, she's the very opposite of a femme fatale.

Casablanca is generally not considered as film noir film, however the film demonstrates similar visual and Mise-en-scene techniques and styles. Casablanca uses very dark, low-key lighting with heavily use of shadows and fog. Low-key lighting and shadows are used in various mid-shots and close-ups of Rick sat at the bar, drinking and showing emotions of misery and sadness. By showing Rick in this way it emphasises themes of conflict and corruption – a key element within Film Noir films.

But, I'll tell you guys what. Have fun. :-)

"CASABLANCA IS GENERALLY NOT CONSIDERED AS FILM NOIR" What more can I say?
Therefore if it's Noir status is in question it can hardly qualify as one of the top 13.
One of the BEST FILMS EVER MADE....YES! ...But NOIR...no.

It is a very anticlimactic moment when you think about it.

I love how the Emperor doesn't even really fight it. haha
