I checked mine from Amazon. It is a 3rd. Maybe it's like Black House. Maybe the three is the first? Unless there really is confirmation of a second. Or a first.

“Everyone isn’t bad, Mama! Everything isn’t a sin!” - Carrie
I called the local Barnes & Noble. I asked the guy if they had the new hardcover. He put me on hold, came back and said, "yes we have them. Do you want me to put one aside for you?" I asked him if they were 1st printings. He said they sure are. I asked him to open the book and read the number line to me. This was his response, "What's a number line?"
I then had to explain to him what the number line was and what it meant. Needless to say, my local B&N has 3rd printings
2nd and Charles is 3rd and 4th as well...checking Books a Million next.
The Books a Million near me doesn't even have the hardcover. Said they probably wouldn't be getting it and told me to call Barnes & Noble!!

No, not a printing error.
They set up the plate for the first print run with a full number line. They physically remove one number from the plate for each subsequent printing.
I'll check my local stores when I get the chance. I have no interest in purchasing one for myself, so I haven't bothered yet.
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
Just came back from Barnes & Noble. They had two somewhat worse for wear copies of IT, and both were 3rd printings. I left them there. I did find a 1st of the Scribner THE GUNSLINGER in very nice shape.
I'm sure if there is intelligent life somewhere out there in the universe, they are wise enough to stay away from us.
And the people bowed and prayed, to the cell phone god they made...
Even the Amazon LOOK INSIDE feature shows a 3rd.
Ask the publisher
HA HA HA. Just had this same conversation with 4 different bookstores. One guy told me there was no 1st because it came out over 20 years ago, i showed him the Gunslinger released in July (on his shelf) 1st print line. he just looked at me and didnt know what to say. BAM.
Trying to educate B&N, Walmart, any chain employees is a futile adventure. Even when you are correct (and you are), you end up looking like a douche to them.
2 bookstores said that i was wrong that there are no new hardcovers of IT. their distributor would have told them. So i think these books are a figment of our imagination.
Without youtube, twitter, snapchat, facebook pics, they don't exist.
Be aware that Facebook has filters and will block boring things like a picture of a book.
Does anyone have a phone number for Scribner/Simon & Schuster? I'll call them!
Wanted: Human skin edition of The Book of the Dead. Will accept PC copy.
The google preview shows a 3rd printing as well and it has a date of 5/17/17 on the image.
