All that's left of what we were is what we have become.
I wish we would have to say out names when posting Rep.. good or bad...

"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
It's funny I see this thread now as I haven't before. Just today someone left me a purple(assuming that's negative because the rest have been green?)with no comment as to why but it was from the SK appearances thread. Apparently saying I plan to attend U Maine is a bad thing.
Weird
Wanted: Human skin edition of The Book of the Dead. Will accept PC copy.
I'll be interested to see what that means exactly. I double checked just in case I mistook red for purple but it is purple! Maybe it's my work browser or aliens or Stephen King himself
I haven't been here for ages, but I thought it was impossible to give neg rep points anonymously. Probably a glitch. Hmmmmm.
Can you post a screenshot?
Ask not what bears can do for you, but what you can do for bears. (razz)
When one is in agreement with bears one is always correct. (mae)
bears are back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good to see Bears posting again!!

Is the Feedback Score related to only trading here on DT?
I have a zero but that is not accurate if it is tied to eBay.
Note: My feedback Score only shows (to me) if I refresh my browser. But that of others is always visible (to me.)

Thank you.
I understand.
It wouldn't make sense to give me credit for all of the vintage Shaved Ewes magazines I have bought and sold on eBay.

Jon, your reputation is very much less than desirable in the common and decent world. Take what you can get and move on to a kick ass music video!!! lol lol j/k lol

Is there a way to tell if you have received negative points if the person does not leave a comment?
This question lead me to go look at my last few rep posts (given to me, not the other way around) and I discovered something interesting. There is a little bar in front of the rep message, all of mine are green (which I assume is+ve) rep, but one is 'grey'. now I thought neg rep appeared as a red bar, but that was just an assumption. Also the comment on the thread i received the rep was not one I would have expected to be given any neg rep for, but I suspect it was given to me by someone with less than 5 posts. Is that possible? Can someone who has received neg rep confirm the colour it shows as?

Positive rep is Green.
Negative rep is Red.
A grey bar is shown on rep that is received from somone with no 'rep power' i.e. from someone with fewer than 5 posts as suggested. This type of rep has no effect.
Rep power is the amount of points the rep is worth based on three factors:
1. The number of posts the person giving the rep has.
2. The length they have been a member (rep power increases every year from the member's join date).
3. The amount of 'rep' the member has (calculated by the number of 'green bars' above your avatar).
Thanks Tim, that's really informative- any idea of the algorithm that uses those factors?

Interesting. I also had a grey rep and I'd assumed it was negative, but it had no comment. I was convinced that I wasn't nearly as tolerable as I thought I was.
