Roseanne.
I loved Seinfeld, but Rosanne was consistently funnier and never telegraphed the jokes like in some Seinfeld episodes.
I think Seinfeld is more iconic, but Roseanne is a better show.

I’ve actually thought about it and I’m kinda surprised at how much Rosanne mirrors my family. Middle-class family living in Northern Illinois near Chicago. 3 kids (although I have 3 girls) Oldest is blonde, middle has dyed her hair black and the youngest is a bit of a tom-boy.
My wife does have a sister but she’s nothing like Rosanne’s sister. Parents aren’t even close. I’m still waiting for the season where we win the lottery though. Minus the big "reveal" at the end of course.
To me, Roseanne is one of the best examples of working-class America to appear on television. The troubles, the family, the jobs, etc. And it was outstandingly written.

Murder She Wrote. I just dislike Roseanne Barr.

I love Roseanne. I still watch it regularly. I am pleased to see it doing so well against something like Seinfeld.
There's one hole in every revolution, large or small. And it's one word long.. people. No matter how big the idea they all stand under, people are small and weak and cheap and frightened. It's people that kill every revolution.
Well it's not technically losing, it's second.

The answer is: because Roseanne is awesome.

It's not LOSING, it just isn't WINNING> Roseanne is a better show.
"So many vows. They make you swear and swear. Defend the King, obey the King, obey your father, protect the innocent, defend the weak. But what if your father despises the King? What if the King massacres the innocent? It's too much. No matter what you do, you're forsaking one vow or another."
I like Roseanne but Seinfeld is the better show. Seinfeld is still truly unique for a sitcom because of the characters. It's not a family sitcom (which was most common) nor is even a 'friends' sitcom. None of the characters are really likeable human beings and are all incredibly shallow and phoney. A true rarity for TV.
