Looks like they're sticking with Kinsella for the duration (no, thank you).

Bland seems to be what FS is going for with King.

As for expensive, $95 isn't too bad for a FS book of this size (10" x 6 3/4") for anyone who actually likes Kinsella's work.

(A quick search confirms FS' Misery and The Shining were also this size, a fact which had escaped me. I still wouldn't buy anything with Kinsella's work, but good on FS for at least producing a big honking book.)

Will there be more than one printing? Do you know? I like my Misery and The Shining well enough to keep up but can't get one right at the moment, does anyone know if there were additional printings for The Shining and Misery?

I have heard the copies of Misery they send if you order from them now are second printings. But I do not have first hand knowledge of this.

Was this announced prior to this week? I got the email and wondering where this came from. I need to come around more often apparently!

Got mine a few days ago, very weird packing material. I guess it is recyclable, but its very scratchy. Would have to make sure something protected the book from the packing material.

I bought something else (The Turn of the Screw) from them very recently; it was wrapped in a single sheet of thin, semi-transparent paper similar to wax paper, around which was wrapped/wound many layers of what I'd describe as "cardboard honeycomb" (I suppose the wax paper sheet protected the book from the honeycomb, and the honeycomb prevented the book from moving around inside the box at all - I'm talking "drop from a helicopter"-level safe). Was yours packed like this?

    Yep!

EDIT: The collector in me is making me keep the wax paper. Anyone think there is any value to keeping it?

I believe that's an archival sleeve. There's probably no point to it if you have a book in mylar but it's a nice touch if it's in a slipcase. It keeps the slipcase free of fingerprints. Charnel House could've definitely used this method on their Japanese silk editions.

Is it normal for the book to sit so deep in the slipcase? This is my first book from FS but with all my other slipcases the spine of the book usually sits a bit proud, it seems like there is half an inch extra slipcase on the PS edition.

Yeah, it looks like the slipcase is a little deeper then the one for Misery. Both seem to be a little too deep (maybe 1/8 inch for Misery and 1/4 for PS). The Shining has a crescent shaped edge so hard to compare.
