So cool!

Totally amazing! Nice work, RF!
Awesome that this exists.
One of the cool things was that we took a trade 1st of The Stand that had horrible boards on it, but a reasonable page block. The binder ovbiously removes the boards, bound in the endpapers, and with an indsutrial press made the book block extremely tight.
Look at the images and you can see that the page block is very tight to the (sewn) backside. Commonly even nice copies of The Stand show a bit of curvature and separation. This book should not ever have that issue.
The leather is a wonder, and the slipcase is "tactile". The only caveat I would issue is that they shouldn't be handled with oily fingers. The book itself is nowhere near as susceptible to prints as the S/L 'Salem's Lot, but the slipcase is a different material.
The book and slipcase are works of art and should be handled appropriately.

Sweet!
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
Nice.
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
Very cool RF! this will be an awesome bump in funds for the HF
Always enjoy these rebound editions and this one looks great as usual!
Wow, wow, wow!

Come on Federal Tax Return... when will this be posted?
Wanted: Human skin edition of The Book of the Dead. Will accept PC copy.
Now I know what you were talking about needing a gift edition to match... Wish I had known this was coming before I bought the S/L I would have dropped double the amount on this one!
Yikes!
Wanted: Human skin edition of The Book of the Dead. Will accept PC copy.
We'll see. I certainly am not starting it low like I did with the Schneider Stand case; then sit and be miserable when it goes (IMO) for far less than it should.
webstar1000, what do you think the book(s) are worth given two original art pieces and the bonus that King signed both books?
I would say:
Talisman GE: $200
DM Art: $200 (250 if water color)
ND Art: $200 - 250
SK Sig $100-200 by itself (add premium for different books)
Bundled all up into one beautiful set: priceless
lol but just individual pieces value of $800 minimum more like $1000 minimum for the bundle. But then you add the premium for it being a great story like the Talisman and the art together...
I would say:
Talisman GE: $175 (mine was perfect and sold for $160)
DM Art: $150
ND Art: I have a tough time with this as he had nothing to do with the artwork in the original...
SK Sig $200-$250 by itself as you do not see it signed
My total is less... I think a fair value is $550 on the low side and as high as $750 on the high. I HOPE it fetches A LOT more of course.
EDIT: King signed both of the GE's? If I read that right I would add more for sure... another $150 to each of my numbers. I have NEVER heard of a GE with both of them signed. Rare for sure
HELP ME FIND
Insomnia #459
ANY S/L #459
Fair on the GE I have not shopped for one in awhile.
I was also going off of the commission price for DM and ND both charge ~$250 for a remarque
I think with both books signed the rarity of that drives it over the S/L price. (If just one was signed I would say just under the price) so maybe $550 to 650 (probably more) for the book plus the cost of art. Still probably a little higher than your quote. I would not start it at $1000 but it should definitely drive more than $1000
Separate from the book (and auction) is a preliminary sketch Maitz did. It's a mirror image. Look closely at the bottom right for something cool...
IMO, the signed original sketch is worth > $250.
