Only six more to go here, folks
Hank Williams - Never Again (Will I Knock On Your Door) (1947)
I'm surprised divemaster didn't nominate this awesome tune since he did "Blue Moon of Kentucky":
Bill Monroe and The Blue Grass Boys - It's Mighty Dark to Travel (1948)
That's already on the seconded list, but thanks
No problem, feel free to second something else if you want.
Dizzy Gillespie - Groovin' High (1946)
Why not....
Hank Williams - My Bucket's Got A Hole In It (1949)
The Ink Spots - We'll Met Again (1949)
The Stanley Brothers - Little Maggie (1948)
Unfortunately, that's a 1940 song, looks like: http://www.discogs.com/Ink-Spots-You...elease/6089152
It would have to be the year that particular version was originally released. It can be a little confusing with the older songs that had lots of covers, but it does seem The Ink Spots released that one in 1940. So when we do the 1940-1944 (eventually), that certainly should be nominated there. Unless there's a really good version of it from the second half of the '40s.
Interestingly, Johnny Cash covered it in 2002: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72CKEhHnLPk
Freddie Slack and Ella Mae Morse - The House of Blue Lights (1946)
