This picture is not much better than the other one, but you get the idea.
real nice RT!
Yes, the NEL edition of THE STAND. Like the picture Mr. Rabbit Trick is currently showing of NIGHT SHIFT, I've got a similar copy of THE STAND. Plain white wrappers with trade edition of dj adhered to the book in "french wraps" style. I've never been sure if these are properly called "ARCs" or "proofs." Since I have never seen a true proof of either title these may indeed be the proofs. I bought mine from a seller who called it an ARC though.

I am interested in obtaining a single copy (signed or unsigned) of each the following Joe Hill items:
HORNS - UK ARC
HEART-SHAPED BOX - US ARC
HEART-SHAPED BOX - UK ARC
20TH CENTURY GHOSTS - US ARC
20TH CENTURY GHOSTS - UK ARC
Postscripts Magazine #5 - hardcover edition
Too much room in the new bookcase, I guess.
Anyone have any thoughts on the PS publishing book ONE FOR THE ROAD? Seems a little pricey
I also seriously considered ordering a copy, then discovered it was not signed by King. I'll get one off eBay someday.
John
I committed to a signed copy in November 2008. At that time Pete Crowther stated unequivocally that the ONLY way to get a copy was to take out a five year subscription to Postscripts. They would NOT be sold separately.
I took the bait and paid $698 for a five year subscription to the signed edition of Postscripts. I am extremely disappointed (and, to be honest, pissed off) to learn that now you can buy a copy separately.
I confronted Pete about this and, to his credit, he offered to reimburse me for the unused portion of my subscription but I have decided to honor my commitment. I just wish that these publishers would be true to their word.
Heck, I'm still pissed at Donald Grant for publishing a second (and third) edition of THE GUNSLINGER when they promised unequivocally that the first printing of 10K copies was all there would EVER be. Does no one have any honor any more?
Bob, I agree, I got suckered on the "One for the Road" also. At least the
Postscripts books have lots of good stories!
I looked through One for the Road in the dealer's room at World Horror. It's a beautiful book, but a little pricey for an illustrated short story, I thought.
Anyone have decent (extra) copies of the pull-out booklets of The Monkey and The Raft that came with Gallery magazine? The booklets will suffice, they don't need to be attached to the magazine.
There are a couple of copies on ABE, but I'd rather ask my forum friends first.
