I think an anxious (or shill) bidder jumped in a bit early. The auction could end successfully, or be aborted by a bid withdrawal.
Just seems like an anomaly, unlikely to set a consistent price benchmark.

I'm sure this is right up somebody's collecting alley and predict it will go quickly; a $45 or $50 offer would probably get it. It's a shame they didn't put 19 on the back of the jersey!

That’s my auction! I also have the other bobble head I would sell if someone is interested. We can do a deal outside of eBay to avoid fees and give you a better deal. Just let me know! I don’t post here much but I have a good friend who can vouch for me here.
Huh. Thoughts on the Camelot email with the lettered edition of Full Throttle signed by King and Hill, with the McKean sketch? $4,500 seem like an awful lot.
If I have to guess, they didn't announce it because it wasn't 100% sure King was going to sign it.
Nice surprise for those who bought the book for $1500!

It sounds to me that all are signed but Camelot only has two of them. At least that is the way I read it. Not that I going to try and get one though.

Kris my understanding is all 26 lettered copies were signed.
If I remember correctly, the lettered did not immediately sell out, due to the $1500 price tag I would guess.
What a pleasant surprise for those that purchased this edition.
The McKean drawing is what sold me, should be delivered tomorrow.
All of the 26 are signed. Camelot is offering $3600 if you want to sell.
I saw this as well and my first thought was Ooo a lettered Joe Hill won't be that expensive! LOL. I should've known they would raise the price by three grand because of King's added sig. Pretty cool that he did that for Joe and yeah, probably would've sold out A LOT quicker if folks knew. Maybe that was part of the non disclosure, they wanted Hill to sell off his own merit and not his fathers.
So just to recap : the book was sold 1500, and it is signed by King (wasn't annnounced back then).
All copies are now sold, and on the secondary market they go for 3.6k ?

No, the market price is $4500 at least for those two copies Camelot is selling (I bet they'd go higher).
It wasn't announced. Bill Schafer just posted this:
Hey everybody,
Steve King did indeed sign all lettered copies of FULL THROTTLE.
He was approached after the price and limitation were set. We assured him that we would not disclose his involvement, or raise the price.
Congrats to everyone who snagged a copy.

1) an omission of a selling point just isn’t cool. I collect hill, if I would have k own the lettered was signed by king I probably would have gone after one. As such, 1500 for an uninspired designed lettered with just joe hills sig isn’t exactly appealing.
2) this book didn’t sell out very quickly and there was a lot of discussion on whether or not 1500 (or even 175) for a joe hill limited was realistic.
I know not everyone is Stephen king but Joe hills last collections of stories have been terrible. Strange weather was extremely forgettable.
I want a copy but sorry..... $4500
For an anthology...
And a Hilll book...
I just cannot do it. I entered the lottery but will not be buying a copy.

Would I have bought the book had I known King was signing...probably.
Am I mad at the publisher for not disclosing? Nope.....it was there prerogative to do so. I have no doubt it was in the contract......King did not want to overshadow his boy.
Had folks known it was going to be signed by King....with only 52 copies....those that would have stepped up to pay the $1500....probably would have had a one in five chance of getting one.
Congrats to those who got it! Whether you bought it because you like Hill and McKean...or because you had a hunch King might sign.
