3rd NOMINATION
Chicken Run (2000)
Directors: Nick Park and Peter Lord
A brilliant effort by the makers of Wallace and Gromit. This is a clever homage to one of my favorite wall films, The Great Escape.
I will second 8 Mile - great performance by Eminem!
That's 40 spots now.
I have about a dozen I really want to nominate still, and then I'm good. And about 5 or 6 on the list I'd like to second or see seconded, apart from my noms
I'd like to nominate:
Dark Water
2002
Dir: Hideo Nakata
I went through a big Asian horror film phase during this period and this one has always been my favorite. A nice quiet ghost story.
Only the gentle are ever really strong.
Memories of Matsuko (2006)
Tetsuya Nakashima
Watch trailer:
I have a few I would like to nominate, but I have a feeling they are too "Hollywood" and would not get second. But I still do have some.
But I will try this
Nomination
Film Dogman
1999
dir Kevin Smith.

I second Solaris.
Mae, did you consider expanding nominations and having a bigger first round? The same amount of films you've planned to move on could still move on.

4th NOMINATION
Once (2007)
Director: John Carney
This independent film is so bleeping good. One of the most romantic films in recent memory. In a year it goes from being a Sundance standout to winning an Academy Award for the two singer leads (neither of which had ever been in a movie), who themselves, fall in love while filming the movie. Then it goes on to be a Broadway musical as well. The soundtrack is equally impressive.
Once seconded.
Well, since other people have done it, thought I would post a list of movies I am surprised no one has nominated yet, and would nominate/second, if I get a chance:
Halloween (Rob Zombie version)
Pitch Black
Resident Evil
Underworld
Mission to Mars
An American Haunting
The Eye
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Wanted:
'Salem's Lot Portfolio #606
Fairy Tale UK S/L
