    Shit that really sucks !

It's actually one of my fear, because even though I do not have much that are actually valuables, some may seem that way and I know that if some of my books were stolen, I would not be able to afford or find replacement copies.
I always worry that my balcony may be accessible, allowing to break into my flat.
I don't know if anyone else has any similar "protections", but I personnally have bought a NEST camera and installed it at home.

The idea being that, hopefully, if someone tries to break my window, the sound will be picked up by the camera, giving me an instant notification and allowing me to have video footage for the cops, but also and mostly allowing me to call immediately the cops.
But then, if / when it would happen, it probably woudnt work

I don't think it is someone in my social circle. I moved to Austin 3 years ago, and am somewhat of a loner, most of the people in my social circle are co-workers who are well off. I also have some frields I play Dungeons and Dragons with, but I have only mentioned my collection in passing to them, if at all, and none have seen them.

I think it might be a member (or spouse of) someone who cleaned my house recently. There was a team of about 6-8 maids doing a deep clean. I made it clear to not touch the books because they were valuable.

So here are more details of the robbery:

    Spoiler:

No forced entry, so maybe I left my back door unlocked, the gate to my backyard was left open. Also my garage door was left open. The garage door was disengaged from the motor, so don't know if they did that to try to close it behind them?

    On ground level they stole
one movie poster/frame from the wall (Star Wars), there are many other movie posters upstairs but they didn't take them.
Center channel speaker for my 5.1 surround sound downstairs (this is actually my secondary tv room).
They ripped one mounted speaker off the wall (with the drywall), but didnt take the speaker.
They tried to take one of the electronic components, but best buy/geek squad put so many zip ties around the cables I think they gave up.
    Stole old laptop from bedroom
    Stole a watch winder
Inside watch winder was my Dad's Omega Seamaster watch he bought in late 50's. (they missed my $2K Oris watch that was packed in an eyeglass case and bubble wrap because I was going to mail it in to get fixed)
Took all my baseball cards I had from when I was a kid. Probably not worth much because I used to put rubber bands around them.
Took all my prescription pills (include a few pain killers)
Took a pillowcase off of one of my pillows. I figure to stuff the things they stole from that room.
Took a Roomba robot, but not the charging station.

    From upstairs:
Stole the SK books from library
Took a Sword I bought at a Renascence fair downstairs, but left it downstairs.
I have a media room with tons of electonics, a wet bar, and lots of CD/DVD/Blu-Ray/4K
From the cabinet with my CD's they took the box for the Rolling Stones Deluxe GRRRRR! colection. Ironically the discs are actually in a 300disc CD player.
They actually had to move a Monty Python boxed set out of the way to get it, but didn't take that.
I haven't noticed anything else missing in the media room. They even had to step over the cord to the laptop I am using now, but didn't take the laptop.
The opened up the cabinets with the booze, but don't see anything missing.

I can only think they got spooked and left early, they could have done a lot more damage.

I hope they find the fuckers and execute them.

It’s been an absolute stressful last 48 hours. I was out in the yard helping my son with his golf swing a couple nights ago. After demonstrating something, he didn’t realize I was still behind him, and I didn’t think he was ready to swing again. Needless to say, he swung the club right at me, slicing into my ear, like a scissors, right through the cartilage.

Three hours in the ER and multiple stitches later, my ear was put back together. I refused to look at how I looked following the accident, but my wife said that she could see daylight through my ear. I’m sure I’ll end up with a really nasty scar, but I just hope there is no permanent hearing loss. It’s tough to tell how my hearing will recover, since I’ve mostly dealt with fluid or dried blood in the ear to this point.

I hate it when that happens.

You have to heal up enough to hear Metallica in September.

Perhaps I can ask them to turn it up?

Today I was weed-whacking and I injured this baby bunny. I absolutely HATE when I do things like that, I just didn't see it. I called the vet and ended up putting antibiotic cream on the slash and its little foot. It seemed okay so I put it back under the bush. I never realized baby rabbits could cry out in pain, heartbreaking. I hope the poor thing survives.

I'm sure if there is intelligent life somewhere out there in the universe, they are wise enough to stay away from us.

And the people bowed and prayed, to the cell phone god they made...

Not sure, curious of his response. Not unless this is the company that won the original bid for creating Star War action figures and toys. All now highly collectible.

The member hasn't "chosen" not to receive PM's. They have to have 5 posts before they can send or receive PM's. At that point, then an elected preference to not receive PM's could/would kick in.

Kenner was the toy company that was selected to produce the first Star Wars action figures. The company is actually located where I live in Cincinnati Ohio but is no longer in operation. In fact the house I live in now belonged to a former Kenner employee and I’ve seen his collection of toys. The toys ranged from Star Wars to the classic he-man toys as well. I believe they also did the original thundercats toys as well.

Yes, it was very nice of him to try and save the bunny, but hold on. There's something more deeper, quirky and definitely strange going on here. What was a baby "bunny" doing in your back yard? Do you live in a rural and secluded area? Far from prying eyes that can never quite make out the comings and goings around your "base of operations"? Has the FBI been monitoring the mail? Are teenage girls maybe coming, but not going? Are you actually breeding the rabbits? Given the propensity to reproduce of rabbits, what exactly are you doing with said rabbits that you can afford to save one? Was the "baby rabbit" actually in fact leading a larger group of rabbits attempting to escape?

Questions, Steve. So very many questions. We need some answers, dammit!!!!!!

    Spoiler:
I have waaaaay too much time on my hands, my friends !!
I know you asked of Steve, but I live just outside of the city, not rural by any means, and it's not uncommon to see rabbits, deer, possums, or turkeys in the neighborhood.
You don't know my kind.....You don't my mind.....Dark necessities are part of my design.....
